About the game

In the game, you'll not only discover coupons to local stores, but you'll also meet magical, helpful characters and coupon-hungry dragons and trolls. The game will follow a story line, telling the tale of a kingdom being ravaged by the full priced goods of a greedy King, leaving the people of the kingdom poor and hungry. You, as a poor peasant, must venture through the land collecting "Coupon Stars" which act as power-ups in the game as well as real coupons to local stores around you. When you collect enough Coupon Stars, you can level up to more powerful avatars, like a knight, crusader, and more! Once you’ve reached Coupon King status, you can free the kingdom from the greedy king!    

So at the start of the game, you’ll be placed on a landing square. This square will prompt you to swipe up, down, left or right to visit squares around you. Keep swiping, and you’ll find yourself navigating through a large grid of squares, which we like to call “the treasure map”.

While navigating through the treasure map, you’ll encounter 4 different types of squares:

1)      Friend Squares with magical and helpful creatures guiding you through the story line and giving you clues on how to earn achievements.

2)      Troll Squares which threaten to take away your experience points.

3)      Ad Squares that will display information on a local store near you as well as online stores and big name brands. The Ad Square will act as a direct link to the store/brand's website. 

4)      And finally, Coupon Squares that look like ads, but will display a shiny star. When you tap the star, the square will magically flip around to reveal a coupon. Coupons in the game will offer up to 90% off products and services from brands in your area. Coupon Quest the company is currently discussing affiliate programs with coupon sources in Canada and the US.

We know that finding and collecting coupons in your area is already fun enough, but we’ve added some challenges to make things a little more interesting. Inside the game you’ll find special quests, like finding 5 restaurant deals in a row. Or finding a coupon that’s 90% off. The more quests you complete, the more points you earn, and the deeper you get in the storyline.

Once you reach a milestone in points, you’ll receive a non-abrasive drop down window offering a free prize, like a free coffee or snack from a store near you. Coupon Quest is currently discussing prize giveaway programs with brands across Canada and the US.

Move up the ranks from poor peasant to Coupon King!

Coupon Quest will keep a record of all your achievements and completed quests. You start the game as a poor peasant, but once you receive a milestone in achievements, you’ll unlock your Knight character! Move up the ranks from Knight, to Wizard, to Coupon Crusader, and more!

Coupon Quest is an ambitious project, unlike your typical mobile game. Making a game this epic takes a lot of time and sweat, and we still have many hours or work ahead of us. We want Coupon Quest to be the best game it can possibly be, and that’s where your support will be extremely valuable to help pay for music, sound effects, testing, and additional platform development like Android.
