Zakelro Story Studio (http://www.zakelro.com) & The Wasabi Project (http://www.thewasabiproject.com) are teaming up to bring you an experimental casual game called Addicube.
By supporting the development of Addicube, you're doing more than just supporting the development of another Flash game--you're supporting the notion that great games can be made inexpensively by small teams. By backing us you'll become more than just a faceless customer, you'll be part of the team.
And as part of the team, you'll be getting more than just another Flash game as well. We're committed to complete transparency throughout the project. That means you'll be getting regular updates on our blogs where we discuss the technical, creative, and legal hurdles we face, and answer any and all questions you ask (to the best of our ability).
And once it's all done--we're releasing more than just a game. We'll also release the source code under an open source license and art assets under a Creative Commons license. We may be able to release the music and sound effects as well, but that will depend on who provides those for us. Which brings us to the next point--where is all that money we're asking for going to go?
The first thing the money is going to do is pay for the lawyer who is ensuring our partnership is legally sound. The next chunk will go to pay for the Backer Awards we're offering. Then we'll pay for sound effects and music. Then it will go to cover any expenses we haven't released we'll be facing yet. Anything that's left by that point will be split between our studios and will go to funding our next projects.
