I absolutely LOVE to tell stories.  It's how I first got into songwriting.  I recently wrote 6 songs to put together for an EP, which will be called Kings. I also wrote a screenplay to go along with it, and this will hopefully become the first ever "YouTube Album."

This EP is part one of a two part project. The sequel will be entitled Kingdoms, but for now, we’re focused on Kings. This is a true concept album.  Each song illustrates a different moment of the story, all of which ultimately build to an epic conclusion. 

Almost immediately, I knew that I wanted to find a way to portray the story within the music in a visual sense so I sat down with a video production company to discuss video options.  However, these will be unique compared to every other video circling the music scene. Many music videos highlight the band playing the song, and although I do enjoy those myself, the truth is that in my mind, music is about telling a story. I want to further tell the story I’ve created by using video as a medium.  I want others to see them as I see them in my mind. Basically, I can visualize the entire story playing out as if it were a movie with characters, plot, action, setting, and the music as an underscore.  I had originally planned to shoot just one music video, but as time went on, I realized how easily I could see each song - the entire story, one of love, hate, joy, fear, and perseverance - playing out on screen.  I could see how the characters would interact.  Then, I was asked, "What if you actually made a video for each song?  Have each one flow together just like the songs do?" So, I sat down, wrote a screenplay, and drew up a storyboard.  Everything unfolded before me on paper, and I just couldn't let the idea go.  I had written a mini movie comprised of music videos.

So, The David Project is the telling of a story through music and video.  The minimum goal for this project will fund recording the album and one video.  Every dollar over the set goal will open more doors to shoot the rest of the music videos.

$8000 will fund the album, Kings, AND all six music videos.

The album will be released first, and then the music videos will be released on YouTube in a manner representing a television show.  Kings is season one and each video will be released on a bi-weekly or monthly basis as "webisodes."  The follow-up EP, Kingdoms, will be the epic conclusion to the story.

There are a lot of production costs that go into recording an album and shooting six videos.  Recording, mixing, mastering, musicians, equipment, video editing, etc.  All are required to make an album and its videos.  That's where you come in.  You could be a part of making the first ever "YouTube Album" happen!  However, I also don't want you to feel like you're just throwing money at an idea.  You're getting great rewards for whatever amount you may give.  In fact, it's more like a pre-order than anything else!  If you look to the side, you'll see several great rewards for ten different levels.  Choose one that works best for you!
