help me fund my full length cd!
and so it goes like this:
i haven't been in the studio recording my pop/jazz/folk/indie/quirky/yourfavoritetypeofmusictolistentoever since the end of 2008. in 2009, i released what i had worked on with my grammy award winner producer/engineer, mitch dane.
i called that cd, "love is in the details".
but here's the thing. it was only 6 tracks, so i didn't get some of the classic "colleen nixon" songs out there. plus, since 2009, i got married, i had a baby, and i've written many more songs. (new inspiration will do that for most artists!) but see, when i play these new songs out at my shows, people come up and say, "oh...i wanna buy that one about loving someone body and soul" or "is the 'you're my match for my candle' song on this cd?" and i have to reply sadly every time, "uh no...i don't have those ones recorded yet" to which the buyer (basically crying at this point) says, "bummer, when are you going back into the studio to record them?" to which i respond, "well, hopefully june 2012, but i can only do it with your help.
so watch my video, featuring my song, "perfect" from my 1st cd ("love is in the details") that i recorded with mitch dane. if you like the way that sounds.....get ready for this new album.
we are talking 1 month in sputnik sound studio in nashville, tn. 12 songs. full band. re-dic-u-lous musicians...if i told you who they were, you'd want to support this project 20 minutes ago. they will bring it, along with mitch who is extremely magical (he majored in the melodica in undergrad).
i'm so ready for my songs to come alive and then a few short months later come out of your ipod ear buds to change your world.

this song , "STAY" was on my first cd, "love is in the details" in this video i'm singing at a pizza bar with the drummer and bassist who played on the first cd.
