It may be considered ill-advised to spend money that is not yet in your hands, but I feel really good about this build, the people behind it and sense of community we aim for. I have decided to begin with the powder room. Because it's the smallest room, I felt it was one I could tackle in a day or two. I've begun with a lovely shade of pewter/ lavender (with the grunt work done by the lovely Noelle), and today Shurie and I sketched tentacles on the wall to be painted in a darker purple.
The entire theme was inspired by this image (warning: art nude) that will be hung inside. The palette will complement the photograph perfectly and lend a muted backdrop to a stunning art piece.
The rather boring stuff was done too. Installed a soap dispenser, paper towel dispenser, attempted to install toilet paper dispenser (read: found out there was brick 1/4" way through my drilling, broke a bit, cursed alot, gave up, patched holes, touched up paint and bought standing toilet paper holder) and the usual tasks of making sure there were no leaks. All in all, it's like being a home owner all over again except for the part where I don't pay rent to myself and get to call someone else if things break. :)
I'll send photos later this week when I'm done painting tentacles.
