JoeDKat, Sorry for the omission. I've emailed the warehouse and asked them to send out a ball cap. Did anyone else NOT receive a ball cap that they were supposed to get, either as part of their pledge-level or as an add-on reward?

      Kevin, Thanks!!

Matt, Cool. Hope you enjoy playing!

Hey guys - just like to say that I played my first game tonight, 4-player. We found one or two places that we need to doublecheck rules, but mostly it was an incredibly fun gaming experience.

Grats on making such a good game! :)

So I just received my game today and the overall quality was great. Unfortunately, I seem to only have 5 of the green bidding tokens instead of 6. How can I get a replacement green token?

I have just played my first game of Sunrise City and even though it took a bit (not too long) for everyone to learn the rules, in the end everyone had a blast. Very happy I backed this project, the game is so unique and fun.

Yes, Game Salute will not ship to any pre-order or store until at least 2 weeks after they have completed shipping to Kickstarter Backers.

    10. Missing_thumb
      Tim Myers on April 20

It looks like Game Salute, who is shipping the Kickstarter packages, has it in stock. They are not showing "(Preorder) in the title like they are with other Kickstarter titles that are not available yet. I wonder if they will honor Clever Mojo Games pledge that they we will ship to Kickstarter backers 2 weeks before it is available in any stores?

Matt...The AISC pledge level does include "immediate shipping". That was only available through a direct pledge on the Factions project. All of the goodies for the AISC pledge level will be shipped together in March 2012 (if the production schedule holds).

Hi Yoseph. The system we use has the best of both your alternatives. It's not "all score track" and it's not "all tokens". The 10 point score track gives players a sense of racing to a goal and the benchmark tokens give them the joy of collecting wooden bits. We're very proud of our dual-tier scoring system.

    20. Fb_profile_picture.thumb
      Yoseph on October 6, 2011

Hey I was looking at the score board and wondering why it is taking the form it does instead of one of these alternatives:
      1. Use white buttons as benchmarks so everything is shown on the scoreboard and there is no need for extra wooden cubes.
      2. We like our cubes, MOAR. 1-10 score is given with silver cubes, and benchmarks are gold cubes.
I guess my critique is that you are using a score board to track small progressions, and tokens to count larger goals, but both the short goals and the longterm goals can be marked on a scoreboard or with tokens (I like option 2 more).

Well, KS backers would be invited to enter the "You Have A Role To Play" contest. They would submit up to four new role card ideas each. We wold date-mark them in case there were people who had the same idea. We would choose the four or five we like best for the expansion, and the people who submitted those 4 or 5 role cards would get free copies of the expansion. Is that clearer?

    26. The evolution of man geek.thumb
      Craig. on October 1, 2011

I like the role card competition and free expansion idea, but exactly what is meant by the "all get a free copy of the expansion" part? Who, specifically, does that include? It isn't clear to me, so I wanted to be sure I understand it correctly. Thanks!

Nice box top, and nice idea for players to help come up with ideas for new roles!

    28. Clevermojo-avatar.thumb
Clever Mojo Games on September 30, 2011

How about this idea...we include four blank role cards in the game and then run a contest for just the kickstarters to invent a new role card and send in a scan or photo of their new card. We'll choose the best ones for use in an expansion and those players will be involved in the play testing and will all get a free copy of the expansion. What do you think?

The compass idea is pretty neat, although that particular compass is a bit... futuristic and might look out of place. I do like the city hall sculpt idea.
      .
A bonus community tile with water on all sides could have a special rule - any tiles placed next to it must be sidewalk-sidewalk with another tile, but water-water with the bonus tile. It could be an interesting bit of additional complexity in zone placement.

You are not suppose to judge a book by it's cover - I wonder if board games are supposed to follow the same motto? Because I couldn't help think that your cover is pretty awesome! And it made me want to jump on this kickstart for Sunrise City! Good luck with all of your endeavors in life! I hope your creative project comes to be! (Although it looks to me like it has a 200% chance of coming to be!)

    35. Broox.thumb
Brooks Child on September 28, 2011

I was riffing off of the "Longest Road" and "Biggest Army" bonuses that Catan offers. If you had some way to track who placed the tile at the top of the tallest skyscraper you could offer that player some perk (an extra "optional" point or whatever).

    36. Clevermojo-avatar.thumb
Clever Mojo Games on September 28, 2011

Sweet...Y'all have busted the $30,000 mark. Now I need to come up with some nice reward.
      .
Brooks...can you give me more info on how this would work? The highest skyscraper is usually very evident.

    37. Broox.thumb
Brooks Child on September 28, 2011

How about a track to monitor the highest skyscraper. Placing a tile that causes the track to advance causes the player to gain some perk.

I really like the idea of a city hall sculpture. Gives you a centrepiece to build a city around.

    40. 1476923.thumb
Nick Eglinton on September 28, 2011

To be honest, the crossover thing was just a fun idea. Maybe a faction pack down the line? :P Sunrise Colonies? Bonuses for having extra colonies in the same location? (thinking of the floor mechanics in SC) #Factionsfrothing :P

Compass is an interesting idea, the City Hall sculpt is nice too, would make a nice centerpiece to the table.

    41. Clevermojo-avatar.thumb
Clever Mojo Games on September 28, 2011

Skyscraper pawns would be interesting but might be too easily tipped by accident.
      .
A City Hall sculpt is interesting.
      .
A zone or community tile with water on all sides would have no legal placement options since at least side must be sidewalk-to-sidewalk.
      .
I'd prefer not to directly mix Sunrise City and Alien Frontiers...but it's a cute idea. :-)
      .
How about an actual compass to place on the city hall tile so you cold orient the tile to the true directions? Like this... http://bit.ly/oQ24a5 it's the same size as a bidding chip so it would not look totally out of place.

    42. Missing_thumb
      Anthony on September 28, 2011

Jason's idea of a skyscraper sculpture for the scorign pawns would be cool, though I have no idea how expensive such a thing is. My impression is that wood is cheaper at smaller quantities and that plastic is cheaper at higher quantities, but thats just intuition and not any real knowledge.

    43. Missing_thumb
Matt Patt on September 28, 2011

A sculpt of the town hall? A bonus community tile with water on all sides?
Bonus Alien role cards (e.g. destroying a building/floor with the seismic detonator, placing an isolation field marker at the end of the bidding phase to block building on a particular tile, and/or using alien technology to "kickstart" a building by adding additional floor bonus points on up to three (different) building tiles)?

Since you mentioned before that you wanted the stretch reward to be included in all copies of the game, I am not going to suggest anything exclusive like more role cards. Are there any components of the game that could be upgraded? Could the scoring pawns be replaced by plastic skyscrapers sculpted by Alex Garrett, for example?

    45. 1476923.thumb
