About this project
Hello everyone, I’m CJ- a singer/songwriter. Thx a bunch for checking out my Kickstarter project.
I’ve been writing tunes since I was 7 and have been working extremely hard as an indie artist for several years. I always put my 100% into my music and do everything I can do improve myself as a singer/songwriter. My latest achievement being earning my Jazz Vocal diploma (which left me with a huge student loan…). I don’t know about other artists- but for me, this isn’t a dream. Music is my entire life and I plan on climbing this awfully steep hill until I make it to the top.
I’m my own agent, record label, promoter, booker. My friends/family are my manager & team. I’m a D.I.Y. artist. The good thing is that I can record my songs how I want them done, and don’t have a record label breathing down my neck, trying to cookie cut me into a Miley Cyrus. I've been working tons of part-time jobs and managed to pay for studio time. Problem is, I didn't have the $ to put these songs into an album, so I've put it all on a credit card (and can't pay it off) …& this is where you come in- yay!
The album was about $300 to produce 100 physical copies of the album.
The new album is a mix of feel-good pop-rock originals and rock ballads. They can be previewed on my site http://www.cjli.net -That’s it. By the way, a portion of the CD sales to support the SPCA.

I love my family, friends, stuffed toys and guitar!
I enjoy swimming, snowboarding, skateboarding (even though I can barely even ollie) and eating sushi!
I don't like wearing ankle socks that fall off your feet, using a dictionary or soy sauce.
I can speak French & Creole fluently, have previously studied German & Spanish, and I'm currently learning Japanese! Let's chat- or you teach me another language! :)
