We need to expand our infrastructure and increase production to provide produce, eggs, and honey for our new farm to table restaurant

Help us stay true to our mission of sustainability, serving fresh local food and our commitment to community.

Thanks so much for your interest in project! Four years ago, I started City Girl Farms, an urban farm producing organic, heirloom vegetables, farm fresh eggs and honey in the San Francisco Bay Area with a desire to increase the availability of fresh local food to residents and restaurants and to further economic opportunity in my community.

I have been farming for seven years and have worked in the restaurant industry for 15 years and I am finally bringing these experiences together in a brand new farm to table restaurant called Township.

I have selected an amazing team of professionals that I have worked with at some of the top restaurants in the country and who also share my passion for food, hospitality and community.

Our vision is that the food in the restaurant will be a vehicle for the farm. Our goal is to keep it seasonal and fresh and to showcase the beauty, diversity and flavor of produce that is picked just hours before service.

THE PROJECT:  We need to increase our current urban farming operation and complete the build out of our new farm to table restaurant. We have personally invested much of the capital needed for this project and with your help we can incorporate a host of sustainable features, staying true to our mission. We will put our Kickstarter funds to good use, including buying recycled materials, LEED certification, new energy efficient equipment, low wattage fixtures & lighting, recycled or reclaimed counter tops, low flow plumbing, a grey water recycling program, rainwater harvesting and to ensure that the new building materials are made with post-consumer content or otherwise sustainable sources.

We have secured a lease on a space in a one hundred year old warehouse in the heart of Downtown Oakland. We are in the process of applying for a full liquor license and plan to serve amazing seasonal cocktails. We have assembled an experienced and passionate team and we are ready to go!

THE IMPACT: By supporting us, you are not only supporting this small business and helping us to become more sustainable, you are also supporting our local community, Oakland’s economic revitalization, many organic farmers, and other local artisan producers. Once we have expanded our infrastructure we'll be able to increase our production, which means City Girl Farms will be creating more jobs in the local economy. We will also be able to buy meat, fish, dairy and many other products from local farmers who are producing food in sustainable ways. Additionally, the farm will provide free workshops and hands-on training for members of the community who are interested in learning to grow their own food and much more.

HOW DOES THIS FUNDRAISER WORK? This Kickstarter fundraising campaign is all or nothing: if we don't reach our goal, we will not receive any of the pledged donations and your credit card will not be charged. If we do reach our goal (and I hope we will!), your credit card will be charged on the day the campaign ends. To the right you'll find a list of different levels of rewards to say thank you for your pledges. Please help us make our dream become a reality today!

Welcome to Township! We are keeping all of the rustic beauty.

Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter

Both Farming and food service are risky businesses but I have a combined 22 years in the business and a very strong team to provide the necessary support to make this project a success. Additionally, we are working with a well thought out and professionally reviewed business plan to help ensure we are successful. We have raised much of the capital ourselves and really need this kick start to get us over that finish line.
