Howard, thanks so much for your continued support. It means a lot to have the support of fellow Wolfpack AND the support from those who might not necessarily have any tangible gain from the project. The interesting part about this project is that even if a city is walkable, this system of signs can change the perception of a place (spatially), helping visitors and residents alike better orient themselves and navigate their place. We are realizing that to create these signs, even in the most walkable of areas (Portland wants to incorporate them), it can really help a city or citizen, depending on who is creating them... to think hard about how their street, block and city is perceived at the pedestrian scale - how people relate to places and mentally organize the city.
Again, thanks so much for your support - we really appreciate the time and consideration you have committed to our projects since the inception of CityFabric.
Cheers!

As a born-and-bred New York City kid, I both totally respect this campaign and yet we're kinda taken care of with walkability (at least in Manhattan--this could def be used in other boroughs). And, as a NC State grad ('85 CHASS), I am proud of what you're doing. I spent many nights there on Hillsborough Street, including seeing movies in what was the revival movie theater, and of course celebrating the Cardiac Pack's NCAA win in '83.
So, I'm in for $45 and will spread the word. Go!!
