About FRESH VISIONS: under one umbrella

Imagined, pitched, created, and produced by CityDance's hardworking and dedicated staff, this project became a means to not only bring together a diverse group that rarely gets to share their talents; but also to choreograph and perform works by their colleagues in a way that showcases their individual styles, skills, and interests.

This show will feature premiere performances created specifically for Fresh Visions and will be performed in CityDance’s Studio Theater at Strathmore, an intimate 125 seat black box theater that opened in November 2011. This performance is a completely grassroots project - produced, costumed, choreographed, teched, performed and fundraised in-house by CityDance faculty and staff.

At CityDance we believe that art is a great contribution to the community, not something to be undervalued. It’s important to appreciate the fact that artists make their living by bringing their talents to a society, and our goal in this project is to produce an event that showcases dance and artistic creation not only for their beauty, but as a form of livelihood for those of the CityDance staff and larger dance community.

Why Do We Need Your Help?

We have a Theater to perform! We have incredible dancers and choreographers! But we have no funding... No money to pay dancers, choreographers, costumes, props, proper lighting equipments, even postcards for promotion... That is why we need your generous support!

Are you new to KICKSTARTER?

HOW DOES KICKSTARTER WORK?

You can pledge any amount and choose a reward. At the end of our Kickstarter campaign, if the combined total of all pledges for our project meets our $4,444 goal, then the credit cards of those who have pledged are charged and we receive the funds to cover the costs. If we don't meet our goal, then the money is not withdrawn from your account and no rewards are provided. If we exceed our $4,444 goal then the extra funds will be used to make FRESH VISIONS even better. Aside from a 5% Kickstarter fee and a 3-5% Amazon credit card processing fee, all funds raised will be used directly in the production of FRESH VISIONS.

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU DON'T MEET THE GOAL IN TIME?

Unfortunately, NOTHING will happen. We won't get any money nor will you get a reward from us. If our entire $4,444 goal isn’t met before the deadline, the entire project will be in big trouble. We trust you won't let that happen!
