SYNOPSIS

In the wake of important and highly entertaining feature documentaries like THE FOG OF WAR, MURDERBALL and AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH Cinequest Mavericks Studio and Picture the Possibilities brings you LIFE IS LOVE, the uplifting story of inspirational women who have survived the ravages of trafficking through the leadership of Somaly Mam and have emerged healed and ready to transform our world. 

WHY MAKE THIS FILM?

When Cinequest first learned of Somaly Mam's powerful work, we immediately knew that this was an opportunity to give voice to her untiring devotion to the Voices for Change girls. Somaly Mam is an extraordinary woman that has been recognized by TIME MAGAZINE as one of the 100 most influential women in the world today. Her inspiration led to our desire to create a powerful feature film that will connect the vision of a world free of trafficking to leaders who can make a difference as well as connecting the power of love as a tool that can literally heal all.

WHY KICKSTARTER?

Kickstarter is the top funding platform for creative projects, using a funding style known as “crowd funding” to fund projects. Crowd funding is the collective effort of individuals who network and pool their resources to support efforts initiated by other people or organizations (read more). With Kickstarter, the LIFE IS LOVE campaign will reach an established community of creative minds and individuals, while simultaneously promoting the project to the general public.

My partners and I have decided to donate our time, expertise and experience to create a major feature film as a gift to Somaly, her girls and youth who can be rescued from future slavery.
