Cincinnati Chamber Opera is a new opera company looking for funding for our first project, a production of Handel's Acis and Galatea.
Cincinnati Chamber Opera was recently founded by CCM alumni Shawn Mlynek and Autumn West. Our goal is to bring high-quality, fully staged opera productions to the Cincinnati area in an intimate, chamber setting, as well as to give local young talent an opportunity to showcase their voices and their work.
We're looking for $3000 of funding. Every bit of the money we receive will go towards: 1) venue rental, 2) costumes/props/sets, 3) programs, 4) rehearsal costs, and most importantly 5) an orchestra.
Dates, locations and times for the performances are listed below:
- March 1st, 8 p.m. - Immanuel United Church of Christ in St. Bernard
- March 2nd, 8 p.m. - Venue T.B.A in Florence, Kentucky
- March 3rd, 2 p.m. - Westwood First Presbyterian Church in Westwood

The biggest challenge that any production faces once it's ready to go is the threat that, come performance day, nobody will show up to watch it. We're doing everything we can to make sure that we have a successful, well-attended run of the show - we'll use social media, print media, and word of mouth to make sure that all three of our performances are sell-outs!
