A film that links Chicago’s distinctive urban landscape and the dreams and doubts of a generation of influential post-rock musicians.
From the acclaimed, innovative post-rock movement of the 1990s to the challenge of being an independent artist today, director Augusto Contento's new documentary Parallax Sounds explores Chicago’s world-famous architecture and its relationship to the extraordinary music created in its midst. Twenty years later, key members of the post-rock movement - from Steve Albini to Ken Vandermark, Ian Williams and others - reflect upon their ideals, politics, and the survival of their art in the City That Works.
