I'm going to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia in April to record a new CD (my 9th) with JP Cormier, the most remarkable musician in the world!
Hi and thanks for looking over my album proposal!
It’s a real privilege to be able to make my living traveling around the world singing my songs, and I especially cherish being able to do it while retaining my independence. This isn’t the music business. It’s just me. Doing what I do. My heart is my business manager, it always has been, and I couldn’t be happier with the job it’s done.
But I wouldn’t even be here right now were it not for the kindnesses and generosity of so many good people…like yourselves…who’ve helped in so many ways over the years: with a comfy bed for the night (or the week), a yummy meal, purchasing my cds as gifts, coming to my live shows, hosting me in concert at your home, spreading the word about my music…maybe because you too believe in the Power of Song.
Here’s a unique chance for you to help me make a brand new studio album.
I have a tremendous opportunity to work with the incomparable J.P. Cormier in April up at his place on Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. J.P. produced my last two studio releases, Color Came One Day and Tulips For Lunch. He’s an incredible musician, producer, and engineer (besides being a world class singer-songwriter & performer in his own right. Check him out at www.jp-cormier.com). I’m honored that he wants to work with me, and I’m really excited about this new batch of songs. To make this album, including the travel costs, recording expenses, having the cds manufactured, design and graphics, and the initial mailing to several hundred radio stations, it will take a lot more money than I could come up with on my own. I’m looking to raise $13,000 by the end of April, which is probably a bit less than what I’ll really need but hopefully it’d be a reasonable and reachable target amount.
Please be aware that your credit card will only be charged if (I mean when) I reach my target goal of $13,000, ensuring that you'll only be contributing toward a project that will actually happen. It also means that I wouldn't receive any of the contributions if I should fall short of the goal. So it's all or nothing!
No donation is too small for me to be grateful for!

I’ll play a benefit concert for up to 400 people for the worthy cause of your choice (so long as it’s not for a cause with which I disagree on moral grounds. **Email me first. This would have to be worked around my touring schedule, unless you cover my travel in addition to the pledge, in which case I could do it anytime I have an opening in my schedule.
