Cooking is all about variation and personal touches. Add your personal touch to the Connecticut Historical Society's community cookbook

Submit your recipe to be a part of the Connecticut Historical Society's community cookbook, Connecticut Homemade: Recipes from Nutmeggers’ Kitchens.

Cooking by the Book: Amelia Simmons to Martha Stewart, an exhibit created by students from Central Connecticut State University(CCSU) and the Hartford Art School at the University of Hartford is on view at the Connecticut Historical Society through April 13, 2013.  The exhibit explores culture and values by looking at six iconic cookbooks spanning from the 18th to the 20th centuries.

In addition to the exhibit we are seeking to create a community cookbook with recipes submitted from the public.  Everyone who pledges will have the opportunity to submit a recipe to be included in this cookbook produced by students from CCSU and the Connecticut Historical Society.

The recipes can be a family recipe passed down through generations, or just something that you really enjoy to make or eat!  We'd love to know what the recipe means to you, so when you submit your recipe online, following your pledge, feel free to include a line or two about the significance of the recipe to you.  At higher pledge levels you will also have the opportunity to submit a photo of the dish, yourself with the dish or the family member from whom the recipe was passed down.

The money raised will go toward the publication of the cookbook and the remaining funds will support the exhibition.

Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter

Because the cookbooks are being printed by an outside vendor, we will be somewhat dependent on their production and delivery schedule. We have production/shipping estimates and have tried to build in enough additional time to safely allow for a May delivery.
