About this project
UNHAPPY WHITE GIRLS is an original full color graphic novel by CHRISTIAN BERANEK, TRISKA TSANG and VIVIAN LEE. The book will be completed around July 30th for an early fall release.
UNHAPPY WHITE GIRLS is about a day in the life of Tish and Branna, two teenage girls who live in Nowhere, New Mexico. From skipping school, to shoplifting at the mall, to a rich girl's party -- Tish and Branna will have their friendship tested. And over the course of this crazy day, secrets they are both hiding will be revealed.
All contributions to this project will go towards artist and lettering fees, printing, shipping of product and promotion. Contributor will not be charged for shipping of printed materials or artwork.
Backers will receive special behind the scenes material about the process of making the book via updates. This includes reference photos, script pages, concept sketches, thumbnails and finished art.
Should the project goal be met, all funds beyond that will be used for Christian to promote education about teen pregnancy and LGBT issues. This will include scheduling panels at various conventions to spread awareness about these topics. Outreach will also be done to libraries and health centers.
