Update #15: $25 donor T-shirts shipped
Whew! We got about 20 shirts in the mail today, including one address in the UK and one in Germany. Please send pics to info@diylilcnc.org once you're repping the cause shirt-wise.
Update #14: Overdue Updates!
Greetings Backer! Here's a quick update on what we've been up to since our campaign came to a close in August.

In August, we attended SIGGRAPH in Vancouver, BC with a special travel version of the DIYLILCNC. In September, we brought the DIYLILCNC to New York for World Maker Faire and the Open Hardware Summit. These were all great events that got many folks excited about the project.
We've been doing tons of R&D on the design, software and electronics for V2, including a more stable (but still cheap!) linear bearing design, and some productive testing with new USB controller hardware. More notes about design considerations can be found here.

T-shirts and stickers are among the rewards getting ready to ship!. (Please note, the beard is not included!)

Last but not least, thank you again for your support of the DIYLILCNC project!

Hey, great work!
Have you talked to the Open Source Ecology people (as I mentioned in a comment during the campaign) yet? http://opensourceecology.org/

Update #13: Backer rewards
Update #12: Bronze Tweet: Special Last-Minute Bonus Reward!
In celebration of our successful kickstarter campaign, we've added a super-special bonus reward!
The contributor who makes the biggest donation between now (1:30pm Central time) and the end of the campaign will get a bonus reward: A BRONZE TWEET! This offer also applies to folks who've already pledged, and increase their contributions between now (1:30pm Central time) and the end of the campaign!
What is a Bronze Tweet, you ask? It's 140 characters (or less) of your choosing engraved on a bronze plaque. Kind of like this one we made a while back at Butler Street Foundry in Chicago:

Update #11: We did it - thanks to you!
Thanks so much for your generous participation in the DIYLILCNC fundraising campaign! We achieved our goal with just over two days left to go. We'll get to work on shipping your premiums ASAP.
In the meantime, tell your buddies about our new bonus reward! For the next two days, $20 will get you a robot-drawn portrait based on any image that you send in.

Taylor Hokanson and Chris Reilly are the co-creators of the open-source DIYLILCNC project, with the mission of increasing the accessibility and educational potential of CAD/CAM tools and research. Hokanson and Reilly share a taste for the absurd artistic application of high technology in their respective practices (examples include a sledgehammer-operated keyboard and a wind-powered guillotine).
So, how's the project going? I pretty much thought things would start to pick up by now.
Jimmy, it's going great! We've been spending lots of time recently on DIYLILCNC V2. Check out our photostream for some recent activity: https://secure.flickr.com/photos/diylilcnc/
We've got a functional prototype of the V2 design, we're looking at a couple more tweaks to lower hardware costs, then it's on to documentation!
Great news!!! :) I didn't know about the photo stream. Maybe in place to have it on the official blog (http://diylilcnc.org/blog/)?
