A Unique Idea
Chris has written and recorded songs from many of life's perspectives, but these are slightly different. As words of encouragement and hope from God to Humanity, eight songs are completed with at least five more in-process. From April to June, all the songs will be recorded and mixed, then Chris will choose the best 6 to 10 songs for an August release. This indie recording will feature the musical expressions of some of Athens' finest, including the amazing violin of Brian Vaccaro!!
How Does It Work?
Watch the video (above), then choose a level of support (on the right) that you're willing to donate in order to see that this project gets funded. For convenience, you can log into Kickstarter with your facebook account. Kickstarter uses Amazon to process the payments, so it's even more convenient if you already have an Amazon account.
Once you're an Official Backer of the project, we're on this adventure together!! You'll get timely updates from me throughout this short fundraising campaign, and I'll send out some previews of songs and videos during the recording process!! Consider inviting others to come along: tell your friends and family about it. Post it to facebook and twitter.
What's The Money For?
The budget for this project includes: buying studio time, hiring some amazing musicians, a few equipment upgrades, paying for artwork and design, hiring someone to master the audio tracks, replication of the first 1,000 physical CDs, encoding for iTunes/Spotify/etc, a little local promotion, and a sa-weet release party somewhere in Athens! If we get more than 100% of what's budgeted, we can hire more people to do more things, and possibly turn this into a full-length recording!!
Who Is Chris Blanton?
He's a normal guy who likes to play basketball, write thought-provoking songs, lead worship, be goofy with friends, learn from his mistakes, and teach people stuff. :) He and his wife lead a simple life: teaching music lessons, raising a son and daughter, spending as much time as possible with their ever-growing extended families, and enjoying the stories-of-life with friends old and new.
