After the fantastic news of getting Turrican I, C64 remix, of course I start dreaming about...
- Turrican I, C64, Loading tune... the one that you hear when the title pic is shown?
- Turrican II, C64 Titel Tune?
I know that you Chris were not directly involved with those tunes. BUT if there is still room on the bonus CD, it would be such a *F*A*N*T*A*S*T*I*C* present for all Turrican fans to have "guest" appearences of e.g. Markus Siebold with one tune and Stefan Hartwig?
OR could you, Chris, do remixes of those tunes? Your interpretation of those classical musix would be extremely interesting and something very unique that was never done before!
"Pretty pretty please with sugar on top?" :)
Creator Laurent BAILLY on May 11
Hi everyone on the tsa team, i hope the project is still going well and that we will get a nice surprise soon. Anyway, i would like to suggest to the project team to organise a kind of forum were it would be possible to score each tune so we could see the favorite remix of the community. Everyone could write is own review of the album on the forum part. It would ne a nice feedback for you and everyone. Just an idea. Have a nice day!

I just heard the Vince DiCola remix preview and I'm *very* surprised and delighted we're getting this in addition to the actual Turrican Anthology!
Creator tarasis on April 30
I'd forgotten this funded on my birthday last year. Unlikely but here's hoping (at least some) of the music will get released in Digital form on my birthday this year :)
Creator ShadowVector on April 26
@Chris Huelsbeck, hi! In Update #23 you mentioned that 'the Turrican music itself is planned to be released in online form at some point, including the original recordings.' Will there be any way for those of us who pledged under the $250 level to purchase/download the retro-style remix tracks as well during that time? While I'm really excited about the music that I'll already be receiving, I kind of feel like the full Turrican Soundtrack Anthology experience will be incomplete without these tracks.
Anyway, I'm just curious to know. Thanks!
Creator Chris Huelsbeck on April 25
We just finished sending all shipping surveys (except the $1-$25 tier Paypal supporters, which don't need a survey - we have your email addresses for the download codes already). If anyone has not received a notification message or email by tomorrow, maybe check your spam folder or contact us. Everyone who has received their survey, please answer it soon, because we need to compile lists for manufacturing and our shipping team!

Creator Benedetto Diana on April 5
I really, really liked the new preview track (Techno Dungeon), except for the "new" percussions added from middle-to-end, rhythm feels... I don't know, weird if you are used to the original Amiga version.
Creator Landorin on April 4
Hey Chris, I'm glad you're okay, take good care and keep up the good work! :)
Creator Robby Huang on March 24
Any updates Chris? Can't wait to hear the final project. Thanks!

Hello Chris, no update from 2 months!
What about the release date? June is coming! Please let us know something about the release date & shipping, thanks.
Creator Andre Gerstmann on March 11
Wondering on so many websites Turrican Rebirth is announced. Also at a german Retro Mag... Awesome. Hope you make again the soundtrack :) and would also be great if its true with Black Forest Games making the game :). Hope you get the soundtrack CDs ready soon :).

Oh, I gotcha... Still, pretty amazing piece of work. I had no idea music boxes could do that!
Creator Chris Huelsbeck on January 19
Chris Hunter: it doesn't change the key; the movement of the cylinder is to create a longer piece of music (it can shift 2 times for a total playing time of about 2 minutes).

Creator Chris Hunter on January 18
Oh my God, the music box CHANGES KEY?! O_o I have never seen a music box do that before. VERY COOL!!! So... Who gets the "prototype"? >.>
Creator Jacob Wilkinson on January 12
I meant level 3-3 of course...
Creator Jacob Wilkinson on January 12
Really loved hearing the basic version of level 3-1 in the megamix-the full mastered bassed powerful version is going to be EPIC!!!
Creator Daniel Decavele on January 1
Happy new year! We waited a long time for new recordings and arrangements from the master himself, I can wait a year longer, take your time Chris. Although I really like the preview megamix with awesome length, it would totally freak me out to hear some new melody variations. I'm thinking for example of the about 10 year old retro game remixes of S.S.H. (Saitama Saisyu/Saishuu Heiki). I don't mean his synth rock metal style, but the way the melody evolves and how he plays with it. The melody always starts true to the original and when it starts to loop, he throws in variations and improvisations. Sometimes I miss the playfulness in the music from back in the days. Aside from that, great work!
Creator Chris Huelsbeck on December 28
Tilman: I will be sending a survey to every backer in a few weeks that will cover the shipping address and many other questions. If your address changes again before shipping, just send me an email or message, and we will update our database.
Claudio: yes, thanks, I will do a second pass on every piece again, once I'm through with the basic recordings.
Creator Tilman on December 27
question: to what adress will the shipment be done? I relocated 4 weeks ago an can not find any setting in my kickstarter, that allows me to put an adress.... #-)
Creator Claudio Wieland on December 27
Thx for the update, Chris!
OK maestro, time for some work in progress review :) . I took some time with my studio headphones and "dissected" the mix a bit. Don't worry, it won't hurt (almost) ;p . The following is my personal opinion, so please keep that in mind.
[0:00-2:46]: 8.5/10
[2:47-3:53]: 8.0/10
[3:54-4:28]: 7.5/10 (a bit weak base drum; inaccurate base drum removes a lot of momentum)
[4:28-5:03]: 9.0/10
[5:04-5:33]: 6.5/10 (mix / instr.)
[5:33-6:21]: 8.0/10 (instr. / equ?)
[6:22-8:10]: 7.5/10 (instr! / drums / mix / choir vol. up, pls :-) )
[8:11-9:11]: 7.0/10 (guitar / mix / equ?)
[9:12-11:33]: 8.0/10 (synth ATK a tiny wee too soft?)
[11:34-12:58]: 8.5/10 (see above / guitar echo? / drum too soft?)
[13:00-14:00]: 9.0/10 (mix is good, but could improve)
[14:00-15:12]: 9.5/10 (base drum? / clap? / pretty amazing synths :) )
[15:13-16:21]: 10/10 (woot!)
[16:22-16:51]: 10/10 (oh yeah)
[16:52-17:40]: 9.5/10 (+ real strings.. ?)
[17:40-18:13]: 9.5/10 (great!)
[18:14-18:36]: 7.0/10 (pads?)
[18:37-19:03]: 8.5/10 (pad synths?)
[19:04-19:37]: 9.5/10 (The power! Beginning is a clear 10.5/10 :D, mix is weaker afterwards?)
[19:38-20:39]: 9.0/10 (drum power? / +strings?)
OK, that's it. There are IMHO some already virtually perfect pieces and some that need still a bit of rework & stuff. But given enough time I believe we can look forward to a fantastic anthology :) . Have fun with the coming work, Chris.
Bye
Claudio

Great Update ! Love the Artwork and the Megamix ! Got me on the mood playin Turrican 1 & 2 today - thank god are holidays ... ;) ....SWEET MEMORIES ... Merry Christmas to all the team & backers !
Creator Jacob Wilkinson on December 25
What a crackingly brilliant christmas gift! Great megamix, and I love how the "big" tracks (The Wall, T2 title, Great Bath) have been left out-I would rather wait until these are finished-more exciting! Great job Chris, and no rush. We want this, but you should love this project rather than slog it out.
Keep it up, and Merry Christmas to all of us! TURRICAAAAAAAAAN!!!
Creator Frank Geppert on December 25
Just listened to the xmas preview mix and I am really happy that I backed this project. Good work! Looking forward to the final product!
Creator Mathieu Stempell (Dma-Sc) on December 25
I just listened today's preview mix and enjoyed it.
Orientation has been "high-grade studio enhancement" of the originals, quite like the first album, and it's exactly what we get here.
I found the guitars sound quite a little too "bathroom-y" to match up with the other instruments though.
Also the instrument used at 6:26 is definitely not epic enough to my taste compared to the original. ;-)
Creator Radio PARALAX on December 22
Thank you, Chris for the status report. Looking forward to the next official update. At this point we like to wish everyone here a merry christmas and happy holidays! If you have some spare time, you're invited to visit our RetroVision christmas show. We will give away a complete SEGA Master System and some more starting at 20:00 CET: http://www.radio-paralax.de/index1.html
Good luck everyone! :-)

And can't wait for this preview !
Merry christmas !

@Chris Huelsbeck: Thanks for the information, take your time (sometimes for a little update :-D) and have a nice holiday!
Creator Chris Huelsbeck on December 19
I really understand that the recent lack of updates has been causing frustration… however, the “Turrican Anthology” has actually made quite some progress over the last couple of weeks and we are currently busy preparing a larger update for the holidays that will include (1) a brandnew preview medley for all our backers, (2) a first glance at Halil Ural’s stunning artwork for the project, (3) a video recording of the prototype music box, as well as (4) the announcement of a special guest arranger that should be well-known to Amiga music fans. Please stay tuned! - Chris
Creator maheka on December 19
Yes, it's been a while, but please consider it's time before Christmas and maybe something else has to be done?! Chris, take your time! I don't mind.
In the meantime, why not pledging for another great project over there, they really need some support:

I don`t mind if Chris informs me regularly or not, as long as the result makes me happy. So maybe that`s just my opinion, but the main reason for me besides getting the cd`s was giving something back to Chris. I mean I bought a lot of games he was involved and also all of his cd`s and mp3`s, but when I was younger I also had some copied versions of games for the classic computers which now I won`t do any more and so now I feel glad that he finally got some money he already should have gotten back in the 90 s.
On the other side, I also understand people who want to be informed because we are all part of the project.
Creator Kickstart 1.2 on December 19
Will we get the (unmastered) first CD as a preview on SoundCloud for Xmas?
Creator euph on December 19
@Radio Paralax: Thumbs up. Nothing more to say. WAKE UP CHRIS!
Creator Radio PARALAX on December 18
Sad to say but it seems that more and more people here are loosing the thrust in this project. There is nothing to say against the fact that the planned release can't be observed but there are much to less updates for the loyal fans and backers here! Allister Brimble did already more updates on "The Amiga works" as the TAS team, even before his campaign has ended. He released a lot of demos and started productions even before the campaign was been founded. That's how it should work to keep the thrust of the fanbase. It's very sad that nothing has changed here, even after some people has asked for more updates and where are the whole promised demos for the special backers? Very dissappoiting to see that the progress seems to be at the same status like months before, even because it has been promised here that the backed money will be used to make this project as the major work of Chris. In the long term, Kickstarter and many related projects will fall on hard times which will make future and similar projects impossible to be founded. That's what the TAS-Team sould also remember... - It is time now to lay it on the line and to inform the backers about facts which means: Definite timetable of planned demos, project status and the new release dates! - Chris, please wake up! Did you really forget your most loyal fans???
Creator euph on December 17
For me it´s ok, that chris takes his time, for produce the cd-box. But I think, that there must be more updates. Only two updates in three month is not enough, so please Chris: Give us another Update and tell us more!
Creator Ferran on December 16
@TMC :
I totally agree the album shouldn't be rushed to become the great anthology we're hoping and financed for.
On the other hand, I also agree with Arvid concerning the lack of updates.
It's really frustrating as a backer not to know how the project is advancing so far, I've backed many other projects like Giana Sisters Twisted Dreams or Leisure Suit Larry Reloaded, and the guys are way more responsive and keep updating so the backers have a clue about what's going on.
Sir Huelsbeck, please at least give us some photos, or tell us how many CDs have been completed so far, which part are you working on right now, give us any info please.
Best regards,
Sebastien
Creator TMC on December 15
@Arvid:
I agree with the lack of an update, but it was clear from the point Chris announced that there will be 4 CDs that the project wont be finished in 2012. And the very last thing we fans want is an Album filled with rushed work, so pressure of that kind isnt going to help anyone. I waited 20 years for this to happen, and i dont care if it takes 2 months or what more ...
Creator Arvid Weber on December 14
What's going on, Chris? No update within a month! No snippets, no artwork-previews, no nothing! I think, this is not, what Kickstarter is about!
You wrote "I plan to be finished and shipped by December this year", so I think we, the fans, who made this project happen, deserve at least an update!
Creator Jacob Wilkinson on December 14
Really hoping for an update soon! Chris, I'm sure it's going brilliantly, and your fans would love an update, as we're mid-December now.
Cannot wait for the Turrican vision to be realised-we hope to hear from you soon!
Creator Laurent BAILLY on December 14
Ahhhh so nice to read something i understand! (English i mean). For your question do not expect much because Chris did not have finished the first cd 3 weeks ago, and the set should be a 4 cd as the Project was a huge success.
Cya!
