Aloha (Hello) Everyone! We are Cherry Blossom Cabaret, Hawaii's Premier Cabaret Revue! We are a 10+ member burlesque/cabaret dance troupe from Honolulu, Hawaii. Mahalo (Thank you) for stopping by our Kickstarter page and checking out our project!
Adding more classes to our Academy of Tease burlesque/dance classes just wasn't enough! This year CBC celebrates 5 years of performing and with it comes our most ambitious theatrical project to date, VarieTease: Carnal Carnival - Cirque du Soul. This production will be held for two weekends only on April 8-9 & 14-17 at The ARTS at Marks Garage. VarieTease: Carnal Carnival. is a follow-up to CBC's previous burlesque/theatrical productions, VarieTease: Cabaret Carnival. (2008), VarieTease: Feast of the Gods (2009) and VarieTease: Alice in Chinatown. (Spring & Fall 2010) all wildly successful sold-out runs.
What happens when an Angel and a Devil make a bet on the fate of a human soul? Cherry Blossom Cabaret presents their biggest, boldest and wildest VarieTease show to date with Carnal Carnival – Cirque du Soul. Watch as the circus of Virtue and sideshow of Vice collide to weave together a magical story incorporating group dance numbers, song, aerial dance, drama, burlesque, spectacle and more!
In order to put on a grand show we need your help! We've set a minimum budget of $3,500 to help pay for costumes, props, set design, lighting and sound. Anything above this amount will help to make the production even more fabulous!
Be the first to get updates on what's going on with our show, costumes, progress and more and get a little something in return for your investment!
We have only 6 weeks to raise the money and it's all or nothing, so please help us out!
Mahalo for everyone who has supported us for the last 5 years and to our new Kickstarter Ohana (family) we are grateful for your support!
XOXO - Miss Fortune, Miss Catwings & Lola Love on behalf of Cherry Blossom Cabaret

Who is Cherry Blossom Cabaret?
Cherry Blossom Cabaret is Hawaii's Premier Burlesque Revue. Seductive, provocative and at times outlandish, CBC is your ticket to a surreal and exotic adventure that will captivate from beginning to end. The ladies do more than shimmy and shake out of their costumes; they also dance act and sing, while incorporating what they do best: Tease. Those who see CBC perform will be amazed by the group’s diverse jaw-dropping repertoire. The Honolulu based cabaret has various influences ranging from vaudeville style theatre, b-grade horror and science fiction, film noir, kitsch, historical and political satire, comedic sketches fused with an eclectic array of music and of course the classy yet sassy art of tease!
What is Burlesque?
Burlesque means “in an upside down style,” turning social norms head over heels. It was a form of musical comedy popular from about 1840 through the 1960s. Performances in the early years were parodies performed primarily for the middle and lower classes of society in which actors would poke fun at the social habits of the upper class. In the late 1860s burlesque was brought to America, it focused on theatrical spoofs featuring women playing men’s roles wearing costumes considered revealing for the time. Vaudeville, cabaret, striptease, the follies of the twenties and thirties, and the girlie shows of the forties and fifties has their roots in burlesque
The Neo-burlesque revival exploded in the early 1990s in Los Angeles and New York City, and the art form is continuing to grow in different varieties from classy to raunchy, kitschy to political, gender bending to straight laced tease, and a whole lot more. Since 2006, CBC has been keeping the burlesque revival alive in Honolulu by captivating, entertaining and enticing audiences island wide. Come to a show and see why Honolulu loves CBC.
