Kickstarter

Today marks the second phase in my reaching out for this project. 

I thought I'd share the images and text I'll be sending to the folk who have written about my work in the past and other who I hope might write about it in the future. :)

"New York. Artist Ray Sumser is putting the finishing touches on his drawing of over 2,500 cartoon characters. A lifelong cartoon and comic book fanatic, the artist has created a visual inventory from the breadth of animated culture.

References range from the Simpsons to Star Wars, Astro Boy to Archie, Mickey to Mario and everything in between. He is collecting final character suggestions and funds to produce prints on a Kickstarter page running until September 16th.

Sumser is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design and was a founding resident at Santa Cruz CA's Tannery Arts Center. He recently presented a solo show of his paintings at Treehouse Gallery in San Francisco and has shown his work on the streets around Comic Con San Diego for the past four years. He lives in Manhattan's East Village."

PS - people have been sending some great suggestions. Don't know how I got this far without including the Warner Brothers classic characters Rocky and Mugsy.
