Who might I be, you ask? Well, I'm Chantilly. Singer. Songwriter. Seeker. Lover of life.
I feel like most people out there have at least heard of Kickstarter, and/ or know what it's about... but some of you may still be asking yourselves "what the heck is this thing??"
Short answer- it's a funding platform for artists.
See, I wrote some songs. Then after awhile, I felt like the time had come for them to be fully realized as recordings. So I asked Saul at The Lovely Light to team up with me and make an EP, and he said yes!
Much time and love went into creating a sonic world that I fully cherish. Banjo made an appearance... Accordions were used... Harmonies, layers, pots and pans! Oh my...
yes, pots and pans... really.
However, I'm what you might call a starving artist. So it's a challenging endeavor to fund myself. Consequently, I'm looking for people who care to help me get through the last stages of financing.
I'm giving myself 33 days to raise $2,000 dollars, which will cover some of the costs.
Oh... and there's one small catch. If I don't make my goal, I get nothing. Nada. Zip.
Bummer, right?? Let's not let that happen.
Arguably, the most enjoyable/ special element of funding a project through Kickstarter are the rewards. You don’t just get music when you gift me. No way! You get EXTRA PERKS AND EXCLUSIVE STUFF!
To your right, you'll notice a fun menu of prizes to accompany your pledge. Things like personal wardrobe advice, a trip to the thrift store, or a house concert! Some of it is just silly tomfoolery. And some is meant and curated for straight-up, hardcore fans.
The other good news is, while there is a minimum of $2,000, there is no maximum!! I've seen people go tens of thousands over their goal amounts. What would I do with the extra money? I dunno... stuff like... make a video. Plan an east coast tour. Hire a PR firm. Even starting a rainy day fund for my next album :)
I realize that the ONLY way this is going to work is with your help. So if you believe, and want me to keep going... consider contributing to this lifelong dream of mine. I would be honored and appreciative to the maxx.
Next step after that? Tell people about it! I will need help getting some buzz going, for sure- facebook, twitter, your blog, email... every single link makes a huge difference :)
Creating is why I live and breathe. If you're an artist too, you understand. If nothing else, this work is something I'm completely proud to have put into recorded form. I hope you will enjoy it someday soon, too.

Notes from a few of the vocal comping sessions (scanned, printed & signed on pretty paper.) These notes are written in my own way of keeping track of things, so I'll have to explain what they mean... like a secret code! You'll also get a custom made journal with your choice of lyrics on the front cover...a nice pretty PDF of some of my favorite photos and outtakes from shoots... AND all my album cover art ideas (there were a few) in a jpeg or PDF file (PHEW, that was a lot...) (plus everything above...)

Made it this far... might as well go all the way! This package is only for those who can keep good secrets ;) I'll give you... my heart. Or the closest thing to it :P i.e. my personal notes on the songs. All the good stuff.
