marks exactly one year since we played The Gramercy Theater in NYC for a Vh1
Save the Music band contest! The venue was packed with about 1,000
screaming fans, friends and family. It was only our 3rd show together as
a band, and the excitement in the air was palpable. It was one of the best
nights of our lives, and physical proof that IF YOU CAN DREAM SOMETHING, YOU
CAN ACHIEVE IT.
Since that night, we have been working our butts off writing and rehearsing,
booking and playing gigs and recording demos.....FINALLY, we are proud to
announce that we are ready to show the world what we have been working on and
record our first official album.
By the way, listen closely because all the music being played in the background of the video are pre-production demos we recorded of the songs that are going to be on the album!!

What is an EP?
An EP is a shorter album consisting of 3-7 songs. It is typically recorded
as a first album for a new band or in between full-lengths by established
bands. We will be recording 6 songs at Big Blue Meenie Recording Studios
in Jersey City, NJ. Over 30 Gold or Platinum records have been recorded at Big Blue from bands like INXS, Taking Back Sunday, Thursday, Helmet, and The Bouncing Souls.
Where does all that money go?
The process of recording will be $5,000 for this project. That will
include about 10-12 days of tracking and mixing. After that, the songs
must be mastered. We send the mixed recording out to a separate mastering
house, and they work their magic to make the record sound totally polished.
Mastering usually goes for $500 - $1000 for a project like ours.
Not done yet! We have to get artwork done, design the CD label and
jacket and then get them pressed! That runs about $1,000. We would also then put the songs up online on iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody, etc. Add it
up. It takes a lot of work and a lot of money to make a music project
come to fruition. Thank you so much for your continued support!
What happens after the recording is complete?
We get the BUZZ going! We hire a booking agent and manager, send the
record to blogs, magazines, radio stations and agencies, play more gigs, go on
tour.

NJ Pop/rock band CATCH WILD "has IT", as they were told by THE-DREAM while reveling on stage at a packed Gramercy Theater in May 2010 (billed as Jessica Rose at that time). 1000 screaming and cheering music-lovers applauded in support of the new band and the bright future that lay ahead of them as they were unanimously declared the "best band" of the Finals of VH1 Save the Music sponsored, "Break'N Through" by THE-DREAM, Fuse's Alison Hagendorf, and Kristen Wall.
Catch Wild began as an acoustic duo in November 2009, when singer/songwriter, Jessica Rose, and guitarist/songwriter, Doug Atkins, both Syracuse University Alumni, realized they had a special and unique writing dynamic together. In March of 2010, the duo added powerhouse drummer, Shawn Fichtner (Tokyo Rose, Action-Reaction) and Rutgers' Mason Gross School of Music graduate, Eric Swiontkowski on bass, giving the group a swift kick into a powerful and unique sound.
The band's writing recalls influences from 90's alt-rock acts including Alanis Morissette and Third Eye Blind as well as modern acts like Jimmy Eat World and Paramore. Currently, Catch Wild continues to write, perform, and record in NY/NJ, passionately perfecting their sound and looking forward to an exciting and successful 2011.
