having made the daring decision to leave his successful fashion house, Skin.Graft, Cassidy has never looked back, spending the last two years working non-stop on his first and true love of music. And his choice has proven to be the perfect one. He formed his own record label in 2010, Sunshine Rebel Records, through which he releases his music, music videos, merchandise, and even an online magazine.
His first EP, Little Boys and Dinosaurs (released August 2009), reached #3 on the iTunes Electronic charts and garnered over 100,000 hits for his first music video, “Whiskey in Churches,” and a #3 spot on LOGO’s “Click List” for “Daylight Breaks,” his third single off of the EP. The album also staked claim as one of the Houston Chronicle’s “Top Albums of 2009,” alongside Kelly Clarkson, U2, Shakira, and Green Day. His full length debut album, The Fool (released July 2010), has created quite a buzz with such notable exposure as being featured on the home page of Yahoo!Music, an interview with NBC, and multiple write-ups on AfterElton (LOGO’s flagship website), The Fool was produced by Anita Hyde and engineered by Matt Forger, who engineered Michael Jackson’s Thriller, and features guest musicians such as former Doobie Brother Chet McCracken and Larry John McNally, who has written music for The Eagles and Bonnie Raitt.
Since the release, Haley has played numerous successful shows, including one with Madonna’s guitarist Monte Pittman. Most recently, his performance at Galveston Pride was written up as one of Houston’s best shows of 2010. His song, "Daylight Breaks" was recently featured on "So you think you can dance" and he has just released a new self-produced single, "Champagne or Suicide" to rave reviews. The incredible support of his fan base has allowed him to achieve a level of creative output and sustainability that is unheard of for an independent artist in their second year of performance.
