"The Public Version" exposes the vulnerabilities and juxtapositions within digital representations of our identity
"The Public Version" is an experiment in online identity and vulnerability. We are often protected by our 'About Me' sections, hiding what actually makes us who we are. This large scale motion graphics video installation for my Visual Media thesis to finish my Bachelor or Arts will feature real Google+ members reading their 'About Me' sections aloud within the Google+ profile icon. Along the halo of the image will be experiences that made them who they are or representations of things they aren't comfortable sharing based on in person interviews.
Will a juxtaposition be created? Will it be uncomfortable? Will be comfortable? I don't know! But I do know that I need you to be an active participant!
What's completed? Who am I interviewing?
Lots of technical stuff is completed, but I need the funds to travel to interview people during the giant SXSW HIRL in two weeks! Having the option to have consistant video is vital to this project's success as is the ability to meet you face to face. I want to get to know you!
What are you funding?
Funding will go to travel costs to videotape and interview participants as well as camera costs, motion graphics programs, and website upkeep.
