About this project
“Journey to the Sun” is creative, lyrically intense, passionate and most important tells a story. It is a album filled with so many conflicting emotions from pain, confusion, darkness; however there is a glimpse of hope or happiness. The music has a simplicity of back when music had a heart felt meaning. It displays feelings of being in a certain spot in a persons life that feels impossible to get out of .
I am in the process of recording my first Ep “Journey to the Sun” for 2012. This will be my biggest project yet!
With your help the funds will go into studio time, which includes mixing, mastering and getting session band players. It will help with the artwork for the album cover and artwork for websites, also for distribution.
The funds will also help with the protection of the album and with any additional funds will go into my FIRST professional music video!!

Carolina Davis is a classically trained singer/songwriter from Chicago, IL. She began singing/writing soul music when she was about five years old. Just recently she began releasing music on you tube and have received over 71,000 views as well as performing in different Chicago venue. She is working on her first Ep to be released in 2012. The album is a mixture of sounds. It is lyrically intense with deep free feeling sounds.
Growing up Carolina was surrounded by a great deal of music. Her mother was a strong music lover and would play all types of music, which gained Carolina's attention. Being a person who kept to herself; she found music to be a way to express her feelings and to get away into her own world. At a very young age Carolina got involved with music in every way that she could. She studied her craft by taking voice, acting and modeling training. Carolina has been involved with a lot of musical theater productions and solo recitals; such as "Urinetown," "Aida," "The Little Shop of Horrors," and the list goes on. She was awarded Tri-M; which is a music honor society for excelled musicians. Through that society she performed the national anthem at basketball games and at different events around the area. She majored in Voice Performance in college where she was trained to sing opera and classical repertoire; as well as learn music theory, history of music and piano.
In 2008, Carolina was flown to Los Angeles to partake in an talent competition called I.M.T.A(International Modeling and Talent Association). While there for a week she competed in modeling, acting and singing. She got the attention of Marc Williams from Indasoul Records where they recorded a demo tape for one of her songs she wrote called "Be Free".
In 2010-2011 Carolina furthered her career by being an intern for Onnie Music Record label in Chicago, IL where she gained knowledge of the music industry business wise as well as performance wise. This same year Carolina explore new opportunities and that is when she recorded music with producer Kenny Coleman from Chicago, IL. She is greatly influenced by different generations and genres of music.
On June 29, 2011 Carolina received a great music review on her song "Stolen Dreams" by Producer Stuart Epps, who is credited for working with Elton John, Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, Chris Rea, George Harrison, Mick Fleetwood, Barry White, George Michael and the list goes on...
In 2011 Carolina Davis also received music reviews from Leslie J. Bialik European music executive and Emmy award winner Christopher Ewing of the Indie music channel:
