It's been a year in the making, but we're in the final stages for the album! I feel so honored and loved to have such great support from all of you, and this experience has been nothing short of incredible. I've met so many great new people along the way, and there were new surprises around every turn. There have been many obstacles with this huge undertaking, but boy was it worth it! So excited to release it in a couple of weeks.

Thanks for all of the love and support, you're all amazing!

Oh man, has it been a crazy past few weeks!!!

The album is coming along well - most of the foundation parts are recorded, and one of the songs is 99% tracked and only a step or two away from mixing. I'm hoping to have a little "sneak peak" preview track to send out to you guys soon. Things still look good for an April release, but I don't want to jinx it.

For those of you that gave Julie Slick and I some improvisation titles, they're almost finished. In fact, it looks like we may have enough material to release a CD of just these improvisations (which those donors will get free copies of, of course). I'll be announcing more information about a CD release party for the Bahner/Slick Duo improvisation disc soon, but it looks like we will be having it on April 7th at the World Cafe Live in Philly. 

No word yet on a CD release party date for the Carl Bahner & Friends album, but I'll be sure to let everyone know as soon as it's confirmed.

Recording has begun!

Hello everyone! Here's a quick update on how the album is progressing:

1) I spent yesterday afternoon at Slick Sound Studios getting the drums and microphones set up for recording. We're both VERY happy with the sounds that we got, so today we start recording the drum tracks that will end up on the album. We're hoping to finish the majority of the live drum tracks this week. I'll be doing a LOT of recording at my home studio, and this week's goal is to lay the foundation for everyone else that will be on the album.

2) I spoke to my graphic artist and he will be starting work on the album artwork shortly, along with a newly designed website.

3) Julie and I will be doing a large chunk of the improvisations today, and we plan to post a few of them on youtube so you can see it in action!
