***UPDATE: Due to your overwhelming support, I made my goal in just TWO WEEKS!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!! BUT...there is still time to donate and spread the word so that I can do things like MAKE PHYSICAL CDs!, MAKE A MUSIC VIDEO!, PLAY LIVE GIGS!!...and more! So no, it is NOT too late! :) ***
Recently, gig after gig, I kept getting asked the same question..."Where can I buy your CD??" After the first few times of blushing and explaining how I've only really mastered the tambourine and egg shaker, a thought occured... "Why DON'T I have a CD??" Well, thanks to KICKSTARTER and your help now I can!
I am setting out to professionally record my original songs on an EP album this April in NYC with a release date of FALL 2012 (just after my honeymoon!) I have been writing lyrics and melodies and paired them with the talents of Dominic Fallacaro to produce wonderfully delightful and moving songs <-- YAY! and here are the costs involved to take things to the next step:
- Rehearsal Studio and Time
- Musicians - piano, drums, guitar, bass and *hopefully* horns and strings!
- Recording Studio and Time
- Producer
- Mixing
- Mastering
- and alllll other costs that inevitably creep up...

WHO HAVE I WORKED WITH?
COREY WAGAR -- Country Pop/Rock -- Corey's original tune I HATE MY BOYFRIEND is quickly climbing the charts at #40. Corey has shared a stage with artists Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts, Little Big Town, Darius Rucker, Lady Antebellum, Kellie Pickler, Bo Bice, and more. Cara performed with her and her equally established band at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ.
ADAM SHENK -- R&B/Soul -- Adam was a contestant on MTVs Making the Band with P. Diddy, and his songs have been featured on Keeping Up With the Kardashians and The Real World. They have performed together in NYC venues Laurie Beechman, Canal Room, Bitter End, Pianos, Bowery Room, Spike Hil, and more.
TIM KUBART -- Kid's Pop/Rock -- Tim's original song SUPERHERO reached #1 on XMKids Radio 2011 and Cara can be heard all over the album, The Greatest Party Ever. They have performed in NYC in Washington Square Park and The Music Hall of Williamsburg.
MARTY THOMAS -- Marty Thomas (Xanadu, The Secret Garden and Wicked) hosts and produces a weekly show in midtown Manhattan called DIVA, featuring a cast of Kelly King (Babyface, Michael Bolton) and several Broadway professionals. Cara performed in a vocal competition here for five weeks where she sang for pros Constantine Maroulis (American Idol, Rock of Ages), Rachelle Rak (Catch Me If You Can, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Fosse, Cats, and more) and Billy Porter (Hair, Little Shop, Dreamgirls, Smokey Joes, Grease, and more).

Cara Samantha Scherker is a NYC based vocalist who sings lead and backups with several different artists from around the country. The eclectic mix of genre and style is embodied in Cara's songwriting and contributes to her recent experiences. Originally from Massapequa, NY, aka "Lawnnng Island," she grew up on the classics - Natalie Cole, Sinatra, Ella - but also began listening to and mimicking R&B artists such as Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder and Boyz II Men. Cara got her professional start in the musical theater world, but her ability to shift between genres has allowed her to sing backups for pop, country and R&B artists as well as lead a Top 40's cover band aboard Carnival Cruise Lines.
