Hi everybody! It’s me, Cara Quici. This is my 2nd official single release undertaking, and my first ever music video shoot and mini tour as an independent artist & I need your support to make it happen!  Growing up, I was inspired by and a big fan of the Beastie Boys, so in early 2010 I had the amazing opportunity to record my Beastie Boys remake of “Fight For Your Right” entitled “Fight.”  The track is now officially licensed by Sony ATV and Universal Music Group, and I’d like to thank everyone involved who made that happen, including Rick Rubin and The Beastie Boys, Thanks Guys!  It’s been almost 3 years of working hard to release “Fight” and we’re almost there.

I was originally born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas and I am now living in New York City.  I began singing church hymns at the age of 4 and I haven’t stopped singing since.  I always knew music was going to be in my life and now I get to express myself every day through music, which is the ultimate dream for me. I have never been able to live without music, so I actually choreographed a dance number on my own to the Beastie Boys’ song “Body Movin'” when I was 14 years old, competed in LA in 2000 with the routine, and earned an honorable mention award for my choreography and performance.  So, as you can see, I have always needed music to carry me through life, as well as always being incredibly inspired by The Beastie Boys. My parents were unable to move me to Los Angeles or New York City as a minor, so as soon as I graduated High School, which happened to be my 18th birthday, I left my Texas town for the Big Apple!

My Beastie Boys remake entitled “Fight” says a lot on its own within the title, and also stands for ANOTHER huge inspiration of mine, that carries me through life on a day-to-day basis. 

The song stands for everyone out there who is fighting for what they believe in, which means ALL of us.  The lyrics also speak as a metaphor for what ever it is in your life that you are fighting for.  My personal fight and inspiration comes from having Veterans on both sides of my family.  Because of this, I understand first hand the sacrifices, risks, and above all dedication given by the men and women in the service.  Therefore, I am relating the specific word “FIGHT” to FREEDOM and OVERCOMING OBSTACLES, OPPRESSION, and EVIL.  In other words, "FIGHTING FOR OUR RIGHTS!"

Again, the “Fight” music video is about ALL of our personal struggles, fights, and goals in life, and by contributing to the video we can all join in the fight for what we all strive for, together!!!  Whether you’re fighting for EQUALITY, a better relationship, a promotion, LOVE, PEACE, FREEDOM, etc, we can all join in “Fighting For Our Rights” together because the “FIGHT” music video represents ALL of us!  Please read below to find out more and THANK YOU so much from the bottom of my HEART for being here.

Our Executive Producer: Jeff Cohen

Jeff Cohen is President & Creative Director of MMG, an International Model, Talent & Celebrity Mgmt. Company & Agency in NYC with offices in Toronto & Vancouver and is also the Managing Partner of International Talent Agency (ITA) located in the NBC Universal Building which is also the home of Universal Music Group. Together MMG and ITA represent models, actors, recording artists & celebrities who have appeared on TV shows such as, American Idol, America’s Next Top Model, Gossip Girl, Entourage, Deal or No Deal, One Life To Live, The Bold and Beautiful, Nickelodeon, Disney, MTV2, Bravo, Spike TV, Entertainment Tonight, Project Runway, CSI, Law and Order and Celebrity Apprentice. Music Videos for Jay Z, Hedley, Whitney Houston, Kreesha Turner and Delerium, Nickelback and many more.

MMG and ITA also represents many Gold & Platinum recording Artists such as, Lil Jon, Lil Romeo, Dawn Richard of Danity Kane, Ditty Dirty Money (Bad Boy Records), Anna Sundstrand formerly of “Play” (Sony/BMG) & O’Neal McKnight, “Check Your Coat” (Universal Motown), Donny Klang, Natascha Bessez and Singer/Songwriter Chantal Kreviasuk who co-wrote Rich Girl for Gwen Stefani, Walk Away for Kelly Clarkson and Over My Dead Body for Drake. In addition to directing the operations of ITA and MMG, in 2011 Jeff produced a weekly entertainment show called “Hollywoods Watching” which contained an original music segment in Toronto. 

Prior to founding MMG in 2002 and ITA in 2011, Jeff was a senior executive of the Emmy and Music award winning Charlex Inc. and Charlex Productions Inc..in New York. Charlex won MTV’s 1st ever Music Video of the Year award for The Cars “You Might Think” and also produced the “Yes, 9012” Music Video. In 1986 Jeff left Charlex to become the COO of HSR Studios which was the world’s largest independently owned recording studio with 15 music recording studios located in New York City’s historical Greybar Building where as Chief Operating Officer he participated in the production of new original music programming and syndicated shows, commercials, movies & TV shows such as Antz, Rugrats, Stuart Little, The Cosby Show, Sesame Street, ABC Monday Night Football & the Olympic Games in Salt Lake City & Japan, Spin City and Sex and the City.

Our Director: Moniere

Born in Kandahar, Afghanistan. Moniere moved to New York when he was nine. By age ten, Moniere embraced his film career. He graduated from the State University of New York at New Paltz, double majoring in Psychology (concentration: psychoanalytical & behavior modification theories) and Theater Arts (concentration: directing & acting). 

He also studied graduate level Film and Media at The City University of New York's Hunter College (concentration: directing) and was accepted to The New School University's graduate MFA program. He is passionate about directing unique film projects. Moniere has been awarded Best Director at several film festivals. His film, "Dissonance", has been awarded numerous nominations and accolades including Best Feature Film. He is wrapping up a documentary trilogy: "XeNation?: Abundance", "XeNation?: Consciousness", and "XeNation?: MPO"; dedicated to the mind, body and spirit. Currently, Spring 2012, he is preparing for several narrative feature films which include, "Laila or Not" and "Scarlet Poppy". In addition. Khanjar the music video was selected at the "Golden Lion Music Film Festival" in South Africa and won the "Spirit" Award, "Audience Award" in addition to "Atlantis" Award at "Moondance International Film Festival. 

Our Story Board Artist: Jenny Mareyeya

Jenny attended the High School of Art and Design followed by an education of visual arts at The Fashion Institute of Technology where she obtained an associates degree of Fine Arts.  

Throughout her life, she has been noticeably talented within her artistic capabilities. Ms. Mareyeya's artwork has been displayed within the Museum of Natural History and the United Nations.  

During her attendance at The Fashion Institute of Technology, she concentrated on the creation of a series of large, abstract, and textured oil paintings, along with some in medium of potent acrylic paint.

She also dedicated some of her concentration to abstract sculpture.  Currently, she is creating, exposing, and advertising her artwork through displays and presentations, to the general public.  Considering the immense amount of time she has dedicated to studying, the ability to simultaneously present her passion is unimaginable. Although unimaginable, not presenting her talented art pieces to the public, one way or another, is depriving.
