Guitar accessory. Place CapoSonic on the guitar neck to make cool open tuning sounds using regular chords and scales.
Product Overview
CapoSonic is a new accessory and instrument for guitar players. It takes the idea of a capo and enables the guitar player to actually make chords with the patent pending levers and the three contiguous fret capability. The wonderful aspects and creative implications are vast. It enables the guitar player to embrace the “open tuning” rich and full sounds while playing standard chords, scales and regular patterns. It is a hybrid approach to playing the guitar. The CapoSonic Method is twofold: addressing the educational and creative performance values of the guitar. It enables “simulated open tuning” as a “backdrop” while providing unique, dynamic, richer, fuller, orchestrated sounds of your liking and choice. CapoSonic exposes a major breakthrough; the applications are numerous, diverse, valuable and powerful. Since there is a movement (and/or resurgence) toward alternative and open tuning sounds - CapoSonic’s time has come!

Our Goal
Kick off our first CapoSonic production run exclusively to those who back the project on Kickstarter. We want to start shipping CapoSonics before the Holidays, but we cannot accomplish our goal without your support!
Meet the Inventor
CapoSonic was born out of necessity! Ben Ryan is an avid music lover and guitar player. It all started many years ago, when a friend showed him open “D” tuning ... and the high school friends at the garage rehearsal space warned him nobody really played anything other than “standard” tuning. Fast forward many years, Ben Ryan saw some singer/songwriters using two capos and tons of alternative tunings - he thought there had to be a better way! So he went out and bought a bunch of capos and still found out it wasn’t quite what he was looking for, so he went on the web trying to find his idea. He went to all the music stores - local and regional - and in his extensive travels from New York to LA and many points in between, he still couldn’t find it. After hack saws in the garage and multiple capos on the neck, he knew this exercise was ridiculous and now he was really obsessed with realizing his vision. So he sought out engineers and machine shops with virtually no luck, all he got were all the reasons it couldn’t work, all the constraints, the problems, complications, and issues. By then, most any sane person would have given up. However, that just instilled the drive in him for the project even more and caused him to focus on it very intently. He did find a machine shop and owner, who would take on the project... and the rest is history! Click here for a YouTube video of Ben demonstrating the CapoSonic hands-on.

How CapoSonic Works
CapoSonic is a friendly device that one places on the neck of the guitar. With the patent pending levers, one is able to engage any of the strings - in the open position and in any of three contiguous frets. This enables one to place a chord configuration of your choosing as a tonic chord and play on top of it with poly-chords, absolute notes, familiar riffs, chords, scales and patterns.
CapoSonic Easy Application
CapoSonic is quick and easy to place on the guitar neck and it is easy to remove too! One just places on the guitar neck and gently tightens it for a firm grip. Then just play to your heart’s content.
Testimonial
"Rarely have I played with a musical device that opened my mind, turned the way I think of the guitar upside down and allowed me to have so much fun on my instrument. After Playing CapoSonic and speaking with [Ben Ryan] I regard him as a rare innovator who is taking the guitar into new tonal territory. As a guitarist, songwriter and producer who has played CapoSonic, I look forward to owning one as it will allow for an almost unlimited range of new chordal discoveries using the chords and fingerings that I already know. CapoSonic will provide inspiration when my writing is feeling hum-drum, and add a breath of freshness to my playing and recordings. CapoSonic can allow the performing guitarist to do on one instrument in standard tuning what used to require several instruments in many tunings. You have got to check CapoSonic out!"

Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
Our project is low risk to backers. Our current manufacturing is setup to accomodate one to one CapoSonic per order production. Meaning that we can immediately manufacture the number of CapoSonics required after achieving our project goal (up to 250 units per week). In this case, our delivery dates will remain intact and we will have no problems getting the CapoSonic 1st Generation Classic into your hands and onto your fret boards ASAP.
Our challenge is that if we are required to produce more than 250 CapoSonics per week, production will mandate an advanced manufacturing process. In this case, our plan is to shift manufacturing to a larger facility, where CapoSonic will be 100% machined, rather than machined and handmade. This high volume production introduces the possibility of lengthening our timeline for delivery.

The term patent pending legally implies that a provision has been submitted to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The CapoSonic system will carry the title of “patent pending” until the utility patent applications is formally granted from the USPTO.
