About this project

Unlike any performance/exhibit of its kind, Okeanos is an immersive dance/circus/video experience that will inspire and educate audiences about the ocean, catalyze interest in art/science collaborations, and help to raise funds and awareness for marine protected areas. It features inventive and articulated dance vocabulary, abstract forms that mirror nature and poetic integration of audio/video/media forms.

To help complete Okeanos, which will premiere in Spring 2012 at Fort Mason, Capacitor requires funds for an underwater video shoot. You can see the underwater photoshoot Capacitor completed with photographer Joseph Seif here. Now we need to capture similar scenes in video to be projected during the show.

Please note that although we are only asking for $1,500 to cover the specialized equipment necessary, Capacitor will need closer to $3,000 to compensate the artists. So please do not hesitate to donate even after the $1,500 goal is reached! Thank you!
