It was the summer of their lives. Wendell and his best friend search for reason to live amidst the turmoil of growing up.
PLOT:
It's the last day of summer, and Wendell's last night in town before going off to start his first year of college. Over a cup of coffee, he meets up with his best friend for what appears to be a last goodbye. What starts as a absurd conversation gradually escalates into a bare-bones heart to heart until together, they address the life-changing events that occurred during that summer of their lives and discuss their fears, hopes, and dreams of venturing into the unknown.
GOALS:
The goal for my short film is to explore themes of alienation, friendship, and growing up during the pinnacle transition from post high-school to young adulthood through the lives of two, middle-class, American teens. Adolescence, as some of you may know, is such a life-shaping time and an area that I really find and endless amount of fascination with. This film will seek to explore it.
I also have ambitions to submit the film to the Portland International Film Festival, The California Circuit (Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, Venice), and various other film festivals around California, the Pacific Northwest, and perhaps the greater U.S. for 2012

FUNDING:
I am looking to raise a small sum to pay for the location, food, miscellaneous equipment as well as the actors and crew. Everyone gets payed that works on this project. The project will be SAG certified and meet all union standards ensuring the highest level of professionalism. For the day, this project will employe a small but select group of talented, professional, up-and-coming actors and crew members in the bustling city of Los Angeles as well as yield, what I believe, will be a truly beautiful and moving piece of cinema.
