About this project
Here's the deal... We formed a band in 2000 for fun. It turned out to be a whole lot of fun. We went from playing the occasional show with a drum machine and recording demos at the house to playing with the biggest metal acts on the planet (Machinehead, Arch Enemy, Shadows Fall, DRI, Lamb of God, etc) touring other countries and pretty much living the dream. Then in 2008, it stopped. It always does. Mortgages, babies, dayjobs, reality. It happens. Fast forward 4 years. We got the gang back together. We've dusted off the amps. We are writing new songs. But this time, it's on our terms. But recording an album on a professional level takes some help, and that's where YOU come in. Byzantine wants to partner up with you to make this happen. By help funding this project you can actively participate in the resurrection of this band and become an integral part of the making of this album. Byzantine is a heavy metal band from Charleston, West Virginia that formed in 2000. The band consists of frontman and co-founder Chris Ojeda (rhythm guitar, vocals), Tony Rohrbough (guitar), Matt Wolfe (drums) and Michael Cromer (bass guitar, backing vocals). They have released three studio albums on Prosthetic Records. Due to various circumstances the band reported their split on January 26, 2008, four days after the release of their third album, then briefly reunited in 2010 with Brian Henderson taking over guitar duties for Rohrbough. Byzantine is known for its unique sound, technicality, aggression and melody. Byzantine has officially reunited and are working on their 4th album TBA.
