- What Is the Project?
By The Way The Bird Flies is a project where I am collecting stories from people while sitting and having a conversation. Currently I have been collecting stories from people I know and who have shaped who I am today as an artist. The main reason I want to take the process further is to explore, listen, and travel while gaining a better grasp of what it means to be a person in this day in age. We as people are growing globally and technologically. With the internet people are sharing more than ever before. Although it seems a lot of what we see the world as today, still is what we choose to view. I want to challenge this by creating a dialogue that is more open. My goal is not to dominate or determine what the person should be telling me. There is no interview about what is happening here or what is happening there which is determined by the person interviewing. Instead it will remain the choice of the person telling the story. Just human stories that you share with people. So you get a chance to sit and talk in the way people share stories over coffee.

Why Is This Important?
By recording these stories and documenting them, other people can hear what has been shared, as well as see what I have interpreted through a visual manner in the portraits. All while letting the people I meet share a piece of what has shaped them as a person. I believe it helps people grow by having an open mind, taking away the aspect of judging and assumption, listening becomes what is important. So the project is me traveling around with an open ear gathering stories from people who are willing to share and to listen as well. This helps us grow in general as people on both sides. Conversation is a powerful thing.

Why I Need Your Donations.
The donations will help me achieve the freedom needed to focus on traveling and actually getting out in the world finding a diverse realm of stories. The more that is donated the further I will be able to take the process and production of collecting these stories. I'm going to be doing as many portraits as I can depending on circumstances. Unfortunately as we all know sometimes people are not open to share. I will be posting a couple of stories a week for people to see the progression of the project without giving too much away before the completion. Doing multiple funding periods in phases throughout the year while working on the book. Occasionally personal entries will be made as well keeping the viewers updated on where I might be and experiences I may have gone through or may be going through.

What Will The Complete Copy Of The By The Way The Bird Flies Be Like?
The completed version will be a hardback book containing anywhere from 100 to 200 story portraits as well as personal journal entries from traveling. While containing a complete set of all the recordings for the viewers listening pleasure. Depending on funding, multiple volumes will be made throughout the year. The goal is to gather the most diverse realm of stories which can be an expensive process
