About this project
This year's Skillshare will be held on October 9th, 2010 at the Brooklyn Community Arts & Media High School in Bed-Stuy from 10am-4pm. The day will consist of 5 blocks of hour long classes, with 4-5 classes taking place per block (roughly 20-25 classes total). Participants can attend as many or as few classes as they like, but are encouraged to make a day of learning.
The Skillshare is FREE to the public (with a $10 suggested donation)
Why we need funding:
• to help cover costs of supplies for classes
• to provide free breakfast to attendees
• to cover printing costs for fliers and brochures
We know that Brooklyn is an endless supply of artistry and talent, and we all have something to teach and to learn from each other. We believe that education is a right - not a commodity, and hope this inclusive project will grow and foster a reciprocal community in Brooklyn, as we hope to continue holding Skillshares throughout the year, funding permitting.

MISSION STATEMENT: Education is a right, not a commodity. We are all students and teachers, and we believe that everyone has something to teach and to learn from each other. The Brooklyn Skillshare is a communal, hands-on, learning experience that aims to serve as a jumping-off point in the construction of an autonomous, nonexclusive, reciprocal learning community.
