The visible goal:  write, cast, shoot and edit a dramatic fictional film  about Multiple Sclerosis that is informative and artistic. We plan on making the film with a "Rainman" feel, in it's production. 

The underlying goal: I want people to empathize and understand what MS patients go through and some of the situations they will face. (This is a dramatic fictional piece that will be written in pre-prodution.) 

We will utilize actors and crew members that have flaws or "disabities", to adhere to the purpose of a Broken People Production. 

This film is to entertain dramatically and inform, while also providing jobs to flawed struggling artists.

The mission:  Eventually this film will be distributed to diagnosed patients, for free. 

The donation we are asking for is minimal, because I am going to try and go forward no matter what we have in funds. 

Why $30,000? Films generally cost millions to make with great quality we need at least enough to get started. Eventually, I would like to build this into a whole line of informative dramatic films. I am a film maker at heart, I believe in quality entertainment, but also working within budget. I am not expecting millions, but greater than $30,000 would make this much easier. I ask that you dig deep and find contributions where ever possible, we need lots of funding.

Vision: Eventually I would like to see a world desensitized to flaws. The playing field level  and free of expectations, to accommodate all. I love the idea of a world where everyone can achieve their goals.

My Connection: It is a big deal for me to talk about my illness, I hide it as best as I can, due to discrimination. I am done being silent, the world needs to recognize people with disabilities. It is about time that people start to take everyone into consideration.

My Experience: 10 years of film experience all while learning from MS. It was tough, at times;  I was a hopeless mess, I hated the world and wanted to die. It wasn’t until I talked with someone else with similar issues, I realized I am not alone.

Being positive: The glass is half full and life is good cause I am alive. Encouragement, understanding, hope and desire; these are the things that I learned. Importance should be placed on finding people that can relate, help each other cope. This is how I direct, collaboration.

I'm creating this film, with an emphasis on, "you are not alone."

I am also going to approach the pharmaceutical companies about making a whole series of these films, covering a wide variety of afflictions. We will focus on giving people with disabilities jobs in entertainment.

My goal as a film maker.

•  I would like to make flaws a main stream sight.

• To get people to understand that just because someone is disabled, does not mean they should be put off to the side. 

• Eventually I would like to see an actress in a wheelchair win an academy award in a role that isn't centered around her flaw. 

• So much of media is based around perfection, this is the image that I wish to alter.

• I want everyone to be able to express themselves.

Final words: I personally have lost jobs, due to my illness. Right now there is a celebrity experiencing the same thing... I think this type of thing happens far too often, through exposure, people will become desisitized.

Weekly filmmaker updates

Week 1: the launch

Week 1: (so far has been all organizing and planning. The kick-starter has been submitted now I am awaiting their review committee decision so we can launch. I hope you are all  healthy, I had a great week, feeling stronger. As most of you know, I am building up after a 6 month series of flair ups that left me unable to walk. 

After months of healing, and the support of friends and family, I regained my walking. I am excited about all of this planning finally coming together. I want to thank my friends and family for the support. I love everyone that has empathy for those with flaws and hope you are all safe. I am thankful for the chance to express this life with you. I am thankful for the chance to control this vessel, that is myself.)
