The time has come! For the last year I've been obsessing about making my next record: Kitten Teeth. The Songs are written, we're slated to record, so all we need is a little bit of money to actually press and promote the darn thing.
We've set out goal at a modest $5000. This is just going to cover the mastering and physical pressing of record as well as all art and packaging associated. If we surpass this goal, we're hoping to shell out some money for press and promotional purposes so that we can get it to the right ears. This record will feature all the Brittain Ashford staples you've come to know and love: autoharp, mountain dulcimer, marxophone, melodica, etc...
You'll notice the rewards off to the right here. I guess I should take a moment to tell you about Suicide Kittens. you see, in addition to this whole "folk" music thing i also make little stuffed creatures. I offer them as a reward for certain pledge amounts. You should go to
www.suicidekittens.com to get a better idea of what's going on with those. But in short: they are hand made, stuffed kittens.

With just a buck you'll get all sorts of updates and inside jokes from the gang.
Five big ones will get you the "singles" Summer Light and Snow when we reach our goal! Not when the record comes out, not a week before... but as soon as we reach our goal!
For a mere fifteen dollars you'll get the digital download of the new record, Kitten Teeth, a good week before the street date. We'll also add your name to our site and link it to something, should you fancy. Like... a Morrissey video? Seriously, whatever you want.
For $30 we'll throw down the CD and have everyone who participated in the project sign it for you. Plus all that other stuff...
For $40 we'll send the VINYL your way, signed by everyone who participated in the project.
Things you might want to buy anyhow! $60 will get you the CD or vinyl, signed AND a hand screened, limited edition t-shirt. Designed and printed by my sister and I, these are printed on American Apparel 50/50 poly-cotton shirts. They feature the marxophone. We have your size.
I have a super-secret stash my last CD, There, But For You, Go I, which is otherwise SOLD OUT. We didn't make that many of these, and we won't be making any more. These handsome editions are two-color, hand screened. Plus you'll get the new record and the shirt, etc.
Throw down one-hundred and you'll get all that other stuff and a hand-made SUICIDE KITTEN made by me in whatever color you want. Please see www.suicidekittens.com for color options. this applies only to "classic kitten" styles. Plus your name in the liner notes.
Ok, ok... all the other stuff and a SUPER FANCY kitten just for you. Two heads? Giant flying kitten? You name it, you got it. Your new super fancy kitten will come with a very special mix CD of my favorite things to listen to while i make my kitty creations.
For the true believer, I'll personally make a mix of all the songs I've ever recorded and put it in a little hand made case. It will be unique, and made just for you. I'm talking, all the strange stuff I've recorded over the years that will never make it to any sort of album-- or stuff I put out on some strange (edition of 20?) EP when I was in college. Oh yeah, and the new album + shirt, etc.
Caitlin and I and the rest of the band* will do a show for you. This can be for you and a special someone-- or you and 50 of your closest friends. We'll also do events: weddings, bat mitzvahs, etc. You'll also get the record, t-shirt and classic kitten. *Pending band availability. date and location restrictions apply.
For the ultimate fan: you'll get your limited edition copy of Kitten Teeth and your t-shirt AND your show-party extravaganza AND AND AND a copy of anything i ever make. I'm in a magazine? A newspaper? I'll send you a copy. On the radio? You got it. You'll get new material as i write it, hours after my 4am manic churrango binges. When i come to your town, you're on the list. No matter what.
