Update #7 · May 3, 2012 · 1 comment

Hello Kickstarter!

As far as we've come on this project, we've been aware of something for a while here at Brine and Dine HQ: there has been only one taker so far for our catering package. We've been doing some thinking on this, and we decided that it's probably because we haven't showcased the excellent catering work we've done in the past, or explained exactly what it is that we're offering for a $500 pledge! We've also noticed that Hallmark is again rolling out their graduation-themed cards which reach new heights in punning by replacing the 't' in 'congratulations' with a 'd'. Cute!

As far as what we provide when we cater events, we are proud to be able to tailor an event to suit your needs. Provided that you're hosting the event, we can deliver a package to accommodate up to 20 guests (and if you've got more, don't worry: send us a message and we can tailor a contribution that would fit any number of celebrants!). In addition, we're offering to stick around through the event and facilitate the on-site prep work, serving, and clean up involved. We're also more than willing to talk your guests' ears off about what we've made, how we made it, and why we think it's so cool. That part's optional, though.

To get your mouth watering and your mental gears moving, here are some choice items we've offered at previous events we catered:

Our Sushi, made with both fresh vegetables and our fermented ones.

Here's what's inside our chantrelle and macadamia ravioli.  There's pun in here somewhere about wrapping up your macademic career, I just know it.

Finally, some tortellini in their last moments before boiling.

And following, a sample menu of items we've offered before.  Our menu is always expanding, however, and this is by no means a definite list.  We'd love to work with you and design a custom menu as we go, blazing new culinary ground and adding new dishes to our arsenal as well.

So, if the fruit of your loins is about to finish their tenure at Whichever University and they're spending their final hours in academia studying dilligently and analyzing the job market, why not make sure they go out with a bang and have us cater your event? We're prepared to begin scheduling events as soon as our project is funded on the 13th. And we're not limiting ourselves to graduation celebrations, we're merely making a helpful suggestion. You know us, we're always thinking about you. If you've got an idea for any kind of event, please send us a message and we'll be glad to work it out with you. Don't worry, we've got plenty of time to think about food, too.

In the meantime, imagine enjoying this fancy feast of sauerkraut rye pierogi, vegan sausage with habanero mustard and Backwoods Smokraut, and freshly brewed kombucha with 19 of your closest friends and family members, toasting that recently acquired degree:

Better yet, make it a reality!
