About Me:
My name is John, and I'm an unsigned musician / songwriter. Back in 2003 I moved from my home state of Vermont to Los Angeles CA to pursue my dreams in music. That pursuit continues today, nearly 8 years later. It has been an incredible journey fraught with peril, sacrifice, friendship and personal triumph (cue the movie trailer!). What keeps me going is pretty simple - I just can't seem to stop! I have to make music.
Bridgework:
In 2005 I started a band called Bridgework. We played numerous shows together and recorded an EP called "Wolrd Disappears", released in 2008. Members have since moved on with their lives, but I have continued to perform and promote the Bridgework name with the intention of releasing more material as Bridgework, and ultimately making it a full gigging project again. I hope that this album can be a catalyst for making that happen.
My Kickstarter Video:
A few years ago my accountant gave me a small video camera, which I have used to capture my adventures as a performing songwriter. The video I put together for Kickstarter is my first attempt at piecing some of it together, and is in essence the first Bridgework "music video". I particularly enjoy the part where I break a string playing "Summer" in Austin, TX.
The Album:
I have 13 or so songs set aside for the first full-length Bridgework album. Overall it is lining up to be a fairly aggressive, rock record. This album will be self recorded and produced in the same fashion as the Bridgework "World Disappears" EP. I also have a lot of newer, unfinished material that I am toying with to possibly be ready for this record, but who knows.
Your Donations:
Your donations will help fund studio upgrades, professional mixing and/or mastering, and the manufacturing of CDs. $3500 is a huge help, but I will be putting a lot of my own money into it as well. The more we can raise, the better my chances of producing a professional album for you.
