Ok, So what exactly is Project Acworth?

BrettMayPhotography and the TenPixelGroup are putting together a project to showcase the City of Acworth in a new way. We are photographing individuals throughout main street Acworth, GA to share with all of you. 

How many times do we actually get to meet the chef at our favorite restaurant or the mechanic that does the work on your car? We don't always get to know people like our Barbers might get to know us, but this Project will be a great way to meet some of the wonderful people that make up the the City of Acworth. 

The goal of Project Acworth is really just to give the Comunnity of Acworth a Face and a Voice to share. Acworth is a culturally rich city filled with great food, wonderful people, and an exciting history spanning across several generations. This Project will be a Visual Celebration of the past & present generations, and those to come... Help us Celebrate!

What is it going to look like?

We are shooting some really cool Black&White portraits of the people in Acworth. We are then going publish them to a custom designed website along with their stories about how they've came to live in Acworth and what this town means to them. We are looking at photographing 50-to-60 individuals for this project. Its going to take two-to-three months to photograph all these people and interview them. Once we have all the content done, it's going to the guys over at the TenPixelGroup for the web development.

Once everything is up and ready to share with the world we are planning to release everything with a Gallery Show at Gallery 4463. The Show is tentatively scheduled for the beginning of October. We are inviting Artist from all over the city to be apart of this show by creating their own work that Celebrates Acworth. The picture below shows what the gallery prints are going to look like. They are going to be huge 20x30 prints, and we are stoked to share them with you.

This is just a little teaser of what its going to look like. We want to photograph people in a simplistic way, but still create an image that people can relate to. Shooting on a simple white background rids us of any extra mess and allows us to focus on the actual person and who they are. 

How you can be apart of ProjectAcworth...

First, we really need funds to pull off this project. A lot of Project Acworth is coming from our own pockets, but we really need help getting the rest of the way there. Second, we could really use your help filling the rest of our "Shot List" (A.K.A. the list of people we are photographing). We have about 75% of the list created already, but if you know of anyone you think would be a great story to incorporate into ProjectAcworth; please send us a message at projectacworth@gmail.com. We will definitely put them on our list of people we are considering to put in this project. Unfortunately, we can not put everyone into Project Acworth because there is only so much our small team of people can physically do, but we definitely want your input.
