Update #14: The Wool Dispensary Rocked YarnCon!
I don't know if I have words to describe just how incredible YarnCon was, but I'll try.
Murphy's Law was working the morning of September 24th as I loaded up the ziptruck. I had been uber careful with the new apothecary jars I ordered and as I moved one farther into the cab of the truck I tapped the base pedestal and shattered it.
I also had not tried out display beforehand and found out the dresser drawers did not pull out as far as I wanted.
But
it worked out fine in the end, load in went smoothly, I didn't need the
third jar and the drawers I couldn't pull out got to sit on the floor
and create another shopping area.
Our
booth was tiny but we had great placement of the main room of the
Pulaski Park Field House. Built in 1912 and featuring beautiful windows
and wonderful murals it's a lovely space for a day filled with fiber
goodness.
With
yarn in drawers in the dresser, yarn in drawers on the floor, patterns,
bags, posters and more yarn stacked on the table, we were all set up
before the show started at 11.
It gave us a chance to breathe before the rush. It was busy! It was hectic! It was a feeding frenzy! It was wonderful!
It
was the kind of feeling I got on my wedding day, everything was moving
so fast and you want to slow it down and remember everything but your
face hurts from smiling and questions and compliments are flying from
every direction.
I was so happy to see all the new and old friendly faces that stopped by our booth.
We
got to meet some of our kickstarter backers and passed out our rewards
as they came by. (The rest are going out in the mail on Monday, don't
worry!)
The afternoon passed in a haze of fiber and the beautiful project bags next store to us from Piddle Loop. The end of the day was slower and gave us a chance to catch our breath and access what had been sold.

Useful Irradiant (shown in top dresser drawer above) was by far the top seller with Greater Poison right behind.
Monday
morning we go back to work, ordering more yarn and dye, sending out the
remaining kickstarter rewards and dreaming up wonderful new colors.
