The problem was it would cost $400 to get a tiny printer with ink that is probably expensive to replace. Make me a printer that I could buy for $100 and I'd have one in each room of my house and every bar would have one too. I was thinking Polaroid i-Zone when I first saw this project but of course using instagram and an iPhone.
Creator Thierry on April 29, 2012
Hello.
I loved the project:
Very technical, very well designed. Beautifull.
Maybe the only pitfall is that your goal was much too high (500K$): it discouraged many people.
Do it again but with a pledge of 150 000 .
This is what I would do.
Thanks for this project.
T.

Welp... they sort of asked for it...
Creator lastSKYsamurai on April 27, 2012
Same here. I'd like at least one more update to let us know what they plan to do now, now that the project didn't reach it's goal.
Creator Chris Gentry on April 27, 2012
I am curious as well if there will be any special orders. Please let us know as I would be very interested.
Creator Joseph Pascua on April 27, 2012
Sad that this won't get the full funding. I pledged the Pro pack to hoping to add something new to my business. Any chance to get this made special order?
Creator Ckycho on April 25, 2012
Damn....kind of a drag to see this might not happen
Creator DJ Paine on April 23, 2012
only 5 days to go. so sad this is not going to happen... what do we do now Breakfast?
Creator the lovely lo on April 23, 2012
I think that it is effin' ridiculous that this project isn't backed yet. I don't even own the shop I work at and I pledged for one! I mean, as much as people use Instagram... really?! Someone call Mr. Zuckerberg and tell him to fund everything!!! GEEZ!!!
Creator Aldo Valadez on April 22, 2012
I'm amazed that the Instaprint team did not rally for their kickstarter campaign. no updates sorry two, and almost no support. I guess they did not want Instaprint to happen. too bad and Sad...Best Wishes. @Rafael Pebble is rockin it.
Creator Rafael Rodrigues Colombo on April 22, 2012
6 days to go and $288000+ missing! I will use my money for Pebble!
Creator lastSKYsamurai on April 22, 2012
Nothings impossible. Projects generally spike near the beginning & right at the end, don't give up guys! We can do this : D
All we have to do is commit this week to our week of Instaprint! Social Media, Photography Blogs, friends who know friends who know friends, who know that certain someone who preferably works at Facebook, haha. Print some Posters out about Instaprint & put them around town!
Maybe ask your Mums & Dads that you want them to donate to the Instarprint kickstarter as your years Birthday/Christmas Present. Drive it People!
Creator Ben Buchloh on April 20, 2012
9 days to go and still 300.000 missing, looks like this isn´t going to happen...
Creator Sara Czosnyka on April 19, 2012
GREAT Video, showcasing sleek design, smart engineering, charming characters + filling a market need.
Creator Vanessa P on April 17, 2012
I have been fortunate enough to be capable of getting the home kit. Wish I could give more because this is truly awesome. Wish you guys the best of luck.
Creator Steven Verhoest on April 13, 2012
Does anybody knows somebody that works at Facebook?
Creator Steven Verhoest on April 12, 2012
I just upped my pledge to have 2 home kits. My sister lives in India and I would like to give her an instaprint. I would place the other with my parents. This way we they can print images to each other. But we need it to get funded first. Hope that Facebook funds all the rest of the amount. What's a mere 500K if you spend 1billion. I want my instaprints to.
Creator lastSKYsamurai on April 12, 2012
Hope everyone is spreading the word, Put some posters up around your town/City, Play the backer Video to all your Insta buddies, Hack a national News channel & stream the video, something! Over 5000 likes for this project & only 765 pledges, Get moving people! I want my Instaprint.
Creator Robert C. Raine on April 10, 2012
The acquisition of Instagram by Facebook leaves many unanswered questions that may derail this project. It would be a shame to get one of these printers only to have Facebook change, or end Instagram and render this product useless?
I would like to hear from the project team regarding the ability to update the software after release (i.e. if Instagram goes away, could this printer pull images from Twitter?).
This uncertainty has given me pause to reconsider my pledge. It would be a shame if this hardware became obsolete before it was even released. the lack of interaction by the project team is worrisome
Creator Rafael Rodrigues Colombo on April 9, 2012
I've just tweeted, at @iRafaelColombo: "Now that Mark Zuckerberg acquired INSTAGRAM, it's time to support INSTAPRINT at KICKSTARTER. http://kck.st/Av7rIe". I hope the next 20 days may be better for this project.
Creator Meir Israel on April 9, 2012
Instagram just got acquired by Facebook for $1 Billion.............c'monnnnnnnnnn kickstarters!
Creator Harry on April 9, 2012
That would be fantastic news!
Creator Carleton Torpin on April 8, 2012
Those wondering why the team is not updating their project page should be aware that this project is likely going to be produced regardless of their funding on Kickstarter; hence the perceived apathy. It wouldn't be that difficult for a company like this (with a nearly ready-to-go product) to find an outside investor or two and begin commercial production. They likely expected a larger influx of backers initially and now they've just relegated their Kickstarter project to the back burner. I could be wrong but they don't seem too keen on jumping on this comment to correct me... :(
Creator SEXCoffee on April 7, 2012
This product seems like it would be awesome! And a great device to have on tour so that fans can print photos at shows!
Creator Matt on April 6, 2012
I just reduced my pledge from $399 to $1. Love the idea but I can't see how the team is ever going to produce the product if they can't provide their backers with an update.
Creator Harry on April 4, 2012
I certainly don't want anyone to pull their pledge. I just wanted the team to really generate some buzz. Its a great product. I'm a backer. I want more backers so they make their goal. I want them to really try their best to make the goal happen.
Creator oxoboxo on April 4, 2012
I'm really hoping now that Instagram has landed for us Android users, more buzz for this will be created and this thing actually happens!
Creator Aaron Miller on April 3, 2012
I agree with Harry. I'm pulling my pledge. It's a great concept, but the team doesn't seem like they're really invested in making this happen. They're certainly not active with this community. It makes me wonder how they'd be with follow through if it were funded.
Creator Christopher Parthier on April 3, 2012
Just went straight for the Home Kit and promoted it on ma blog - hope that helps to get the much needed money to make this product a reality
Creator Harry on April 3, 2012
Great job? If I was trying to raise money, I'd be on this comment area constantly. They have not responded to anyone in weeks in this comments section. I see no form of promotion taking place to get the word out. What an awesome concept and product. It's a shame that nothing is done to promote it by the team. Very strange.
Creator lastSKYsamurai on April 2, 2012
It's a shame really. I wonder how many potential backers were lost when they thought the home kit didn't have wi-fi! Shurly Kickstarter will allow you to fix this mistake!!!???
Also please add Hipstermatic & PicFrame support : D
Other then that, great job guys!!! If I didn't live on a small Island with 1800 other people mostly farmers I'd spread the word about this (other then with facebook) & spread posters & notes all around Melbourne City!!! So I encourage everyone else who can to do so!!! Let's help Breakfast get their goal.
Creator Robin Durden on March 29, 2012
crossing fingers although it looks grim. you guys need to get some more attention!
Creator Wylie Fisher on March 28, 2012
Is it possible to reprint a photo that has already been printed by Instaprint?
Creator Tina Smith (deleted) on March 25, 2012
This comment has been removed by Kickstarter.
Creator Huanmin Huang on March 25, 2012
All the best - fingers crossed!
Creator Harry on March 23, 2012
Are there any videos of it in use at a real event? I'd love to see it in action!
Creator Harry on March 23, 2012
Question
1. When I receive an instaprint, can I be "self-suffient"? Meaning.. will there be any other ongoing charges per picture or per upload to the servers? (I'm not talking about the cost of buying paper).
I want to buy the machine. But my paper. And use it without having to have to pay any other ongoing fees in order to use it.
(I hope my post makes sense).
Creator Robert C. Raine on March 23, 2012
I am really looking forward to seeing this project get funded. On the off chance that it does not get funded is there any way for you to produce some kits?
Creator Kasper Wedendahl on March 23, 2012
love it!
Creator HCG on March 22, 2012
We need some backers here!
Creator James Lee Branham on March 21, 2012
Quick question, if this doesn't get funded will we still possibly see this come to fruition in the future? I'm worried that I won't get to use this great product in the future.
Creator Alex Camacho on March 19, 2012
This thing is awesome so i really hope you reach your goal.
Creator Romy Kraus on March 17, 2012
Good luck guys. Absolutely loving it.
Creator Aaron Miller on March 16, 2012
As it says in the FAQ, "Absolutely." The home kit includes wifi.
Creator Becca Nichols on March 16, 2012
The home kit IS wifi, right?? Definitely want/need it to be WIFI! I'll be using it for jobs, despite not wanting an entire "Small Event Kit."
Creator Shannon Yazurlo on March 12, 2012
Best of luck and enjoy SXSW!
Creator BREAKFAST on March 12, 2012
Hey all. Thanks for all the great comments. For those looking for more answers we've updated the FAQ section at the bottom of the project page. If you still have more questions feel free to send us a message directly. They make it a bit tricky to answer them here. Thanks!
Creator Joshua Scott Koskinen on March 10, 2012
for all asking.....the home kit DOES have a wifi module. At the bottom of the kickstarter page they answer that question.
Creator Jason Pearson on March 10, 2012
This is a grand idea.. retail will frenzy over this when news spreads... if you build it, they will come. Rock n' Roll, guys!
Creator Dennis Pousette on March 10, 2012
I'm also interrested to know how the home kit works without the wifi-module?!?
When there is more technical info on how to operate the Instaprint and what you can change yourself (or maybe the fonts etc are limited to the pictured sent from the Instagram?) then I'm probably going to up my backing from $5 to $399 :)
Thx for an awesome project!
cheers from Sweden
