We're down to our final day for The New Neighbor Kickstarter campaign and we need your help! First off, I want to thank everyone who has helped us to reach our goal amount. WOW! I can't believe we did it. Now, we're gearing up to bring you a film that is equal parts suspenseful, sexy & surprising.
BUT (isn't there always a but), we still need your help! Mid-way into this campaign we decided to bring on scream queen Kaylee Williams (Slices of Life, Porkchop 3D) instead of hiring a local actress. That means having to pay for a flight for Kaylee. After reviewing the filming schedule, we would like to be able to add an additional day to make sure we give Kaylee and Ryan enough time to be able to deliver top notch performances. That means having to pay for cast & crew for an additional day, plus feeding everyone on top of that! So to summarize this, we could use every dollar that we can get to make this the best film possible.

The New Neighbor is a horror / mystery / erotic thriller.
It's about a college student (Kaylee Williams) & her brother who notice a puzzling epidemic sweeping their neighborhood timed to the arrival of a new neighbor. Everyone starts to turns pale, they act anemic, they avoid sunlight and they might have a strange bite mark on their neck. They become convinced that the new neighbor is slowly turning everyone into vampires. To complicate matters, sis (Williams) finds herself inexplicably drawn to the new neighbor (Ryan Sandefur). Is she a moth being drawn to the flame? Or is there a greater evil at work?
Instead of just focusing on vampires biting people, I wanted to focus on things such as secrecy, mystery, living beneth the grid, emotional vampirism, and sexuality - all things inherent to vampires.
The New Neighbor combines elements from Basic Instinct, Nancy Drew and Fright Night for a thrilling film experience.
If our campaign is successful, we will have enough money through Kickstarter contributions and private investments so that we can film The New Neighbor in January 2013.

If this Kickstarter campaign does not meet its funding goal, we do not get to keep one single cent. Kickstarter is ALL or NOTHING, meaning that we have to raise 100% of the funds.
In 2012, Writer / Producer Brandon Sites & Actor / Production Manager Ryan Sandefur filmed two feature length horror films - Urban Legends & Truth or Dare and one microbudget short - Fat Kid Massacre. When we set out to make movies, that is exactly what we do. We're passionate people, passionate about horror.

Making an R-rated film vs a PG-13 one:
With The New Neighbor, we could have easily gone the PG-13 route with this film, but that isn't us at all! We will never make a safe film. We will have plenty of suspense! Will will have plenty of mystery & intrigue! And we will have a very erotic storyline, because let's face it, there is something very erotic & sexual about vampires and the idea of a woman being drawn to danger against her better judgement. We're not talking about making a soft core porn film, but an R-rated mature film for grown people and adults.
Trying to bring something different to this sub-genre:
We also decided that instead of just creating a film centered around vampires attacking people, that we wanted to take a slightly more offbeat approach and show the effects of a potential vampire outbreak within the confines of a tightly connected neighborhood. We wanted to focus more on how a potential vampire outbreak (if there is even one going on?!?) would affect people personally instead of the usual "let's hunt the vampire before daybreak" kind of theme.
