About this project

Hello, buddies! Justin Bastard Sane here! I'm trying to raise funds for what I hope to be my first feature film, BRAINLESS - a splatter comedy starring an all-doll cast! Any pledges you make are greatly appreciated by me - a grown man who plays with dolls.

And remember - if we don't reach our goal of $16,000 you don't pay a cent!

THE STORY!
In the midst of a global financial depression, a lowly office clerk is sent to inspect his company's newest venture - and discovers it to be a medical research facility's grotesque experiment to create a legion of obediently mindless workers.

THE FILM!
Conceived in the style of a 1980s splatter comedy, BRAINLESS is a feature-length horror film in miniature written and directed by Justin Bastard Sane (TEDDY BEARS' PICNIC, which toured with Spike and Mike's Sick and Twisted Festival of Animation). An all-fashion doll cast adds an additional level of satire to the film's timely issues of repression, depression, capitalism and conformity as these flawless playthings dismember, disembowel and decapitate each other all in the name of the perfect life.

HOW THE MONEY WILL BE SPENT!
We will use the money raised to get us through production - equipment/stock and the digital transfer, dolls, set materials, that sort of stuff. Maybe even a little food for the crew. I promised them cat food, but with your help maybe we can bump it up to dog food. Fortunately, the cast won't need to eat because they're dolls.

THE PERKS!
So, what do you get if we reach our goal? Well, my friends, how about access to our making-of blog, cute little 1" pins of the characters, PDFs of the BRAINLESS screenplay or hand-drawn signed storyboards? What about various credits at the end of the film? What about an entire doll used in the film? What about props or dismembered doll pieces? You want an arm and a leg? You've GOT an arm and a leg!

THE GOAL!
Our ultimate goal is to make a fun, graphically gory little film that will appeal to horror fans the world over. Yes, all of them. Why set your goals low?

HELP US SPREAD THE WORD!
We've been wanting to make a feature for years, but could never get anything off the ground due to lack of funds. You can help us by spreading the word - let every horror fan you know know about us! We also have a Facebook page, as well as a Twitter. As a Deadite once said: "JOIN US."

THE THANKS!
Thanks for taking a look at BRAINLESS! If you want to check out some of our previous work such as Eat the Johnsons, Teddy Bears' Picnic or The Secret Lives of Sock Monkeys, hop on over to SILENTBALLYHOO.COM. Of course, they're all for a mature audience (in age, not sense of humor), so it's probably best not to let the kiddies watch 'em.

Now, let's dismember some dolls!

Your Buddy in Bloodshed,
Justin Bastard Sane
Writer/Director
