Halfway there!
Hello supporters!
Just a quick update to let you know that the campaign is halfway done (30 days to go) and we are thrilled to say we are ON TRACK for reaching our goal of $5k....we hit the halfway point of $2,500 last night! We appreciate your support greatly, and appreciate those of you who have been spreading the word so we can keep this momentum going.
Production updates:
Opening Gala Concert
Tickets are on sale and the best tables are already gone for our one-night-only concert at our new home (Downtown Cabaret Theatre). The concert, which takes place Friday August 26th features over 50 performers, a live band, a silent auction, food, prizes, and more! If you are in the area we hope you come on down and party with us as we kick things off in style!
Auditions
Season General
Auditions were held last week, we saw over 50 actors, many of them had never auditioned for us before. It was a way for actors to be considered for any show during our season at one audition. We had singers/actors attend from all over the state. We were very pleased with the turnout. At the end of August we'll have open call auditions specifically for Hairspray.
Moving to our new home
Our 'new' office was really an office that had been used for storage for many years. After much cleaning, scrubbing, painting, and decorating these past two weeks we're proud to say it now finally feels like the 'new' office we hoped it would!
Hairspray
As I wrote above, auditions for Hairspray are at the end of August. Rehearsals for Hairspray begin in early
September. We are seeking a large cast of local actors and singers of all ages/types. We start work on the production poster later today, where we will be utilizing the talents of a local artist who creates masterful caricatures...we think his style will be perfect for the animated energy that the show Hairspray evokes!
