On June 28th and 29th, The Boston Circus Guild is going to bring you THRESHOLD. It is going to be our most ambitious, our most moving and exhilarating show yet. And the reason we're able to create this show... is you.
Thank you. Thank you so much. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. This is your triumph. This is your art. You've made a circus. We're gonna make you proud!
But it doesn't stop here.
We're going to make the show better and better. We're going to make sure we appreciate you like you deserve. As such, we are announcing that if we raise $7500 in pledges, we will be filming THRESHOLD - for those who can't make it, and those who want more than memories to keep.
And those who've pledged will be given access to the film! Those who've pledged $25 or more will get a free download code, and those who've pledged $50 will get a free DVD!
We'll be working on the show up until the last moment. We'll start working on the film as soon as the curtain falls. But until then, here's a look at the promo video for the show.

Do you remember your first kiss? That intense, liminal moment before your lips touched, while the universe hung suspended on your breath, when it seemed like anything could happen? A moment after which nothing had changed and yet nothing and no one would ever be the same?
The Boston Circus Guild's THRESHOLD is that moment, captured in the endless second that an aerialist hovers, vulnerable, in empty space; in the instant of perfect balance that a contortionist finds amid the twisting chaos of her limbs; in the breath-catching stillness in the rhythm of music and movement.
THRESHOLD is our most ambitious production yet, bringing together dance, music, and circus arts to tell the stories of the thresholds between each other and the motions of ourselves as we cross and re-cross them.
You are our community. You are our audience. To bring you THRESHOLD, we need your support.
The Boston Circus Guild is a young circus company. We have no permanent venue, no exclusive space for performance or rehearsal. The cost of renting space in Boston is astronomical. For a show like THRESHOLD we can't skimp on production costs. For any show we can't skimp on proper equipment and safety. We must pay our performers, even if it's just a fraction of what they deserve. The Boston Circus Guild is also committed to keeping Threshold tickets affordable to the community. It's the only way to make community circus sustainable. It's the way we think a circus should be run.
Without your support, we will not be able to continue in this way. Without your support, this may be our last performance.
With your support, THRESHOLD will be a show like nothing you have ever seen before. On the 28th and 29th of June, we will turn the Arts at the Armory (map) into a moment you will keep with you for a lifetime. We will create something new. We will make something magical. And we will lay the foundation for our next performance, assuring the future of the Boston circus.

There will be two performances: Thursday, June 28th and Friday, June 29th. Doors open at 8PM, curtains rise at 8:30.

The performances will be at Arts at the Armory, located at 191 Highland Avenue in Somerville, MA. The building is... hard to miss! Learn more at their web site: http://www.artsatthearmory.org/

BY CAR: Some on-site parking, on-street parking, and plenty of side-street parking with Somerville sticker.
BY BUS: The 88 and the 90 both stop within spitting distance. The 85 and the 80 both stop within a few blocks.
BY T: The nearest T stops are Porter and Davis (Red Line), each of which is about a fifteen minute walk. The neighborhood is very safe - unless you have an allergy to fixed-gear bikes and flannel work shirts.
BY BIKE: Several bike racks are available at the location.
BY TRAIN: The commuter rail (Purple line) stops at Porter Square.
BY BOAT: Pleasurecraft can find easy moorings in Boston Harbor. For superyachts, aircraft carriers, and deep submersible vehicles, please contact the Massachusetts Port Authority.
BY AIRPLANE: Commercial and private planes can land at Logan Airport. Smaller airplanes are encouraged to use cozy Runway 33R (2,557'), whereas military aircraft and supersonic transport (Concord) can land on spacious Runway 15R/33L (10,083'). Please remember to disengage stealth technology prior to making your approach.
BY HOT AIR BALLOON: Metered tethering is available throughout Somerville. Special discounts if you are Cory Doctorow.
BY HORSE: Equine transportation is discouraged in the greater Boston metropolitan area. Please contact us in advance to arrange for oats and carrots.
BY PONY: While strongly encouraged, BCG management team retains the right to ride your pony while you're not looking.
BY CHOCOBO: Hitching is available on the street. Please disable all alarm systems, as chocobo squawks will interrupt the performance.
BY AIRSHIP: Docking is available at the venue. You must bring your own rappelling harnesses.
BY CATAPULT: The average building height in Somerville is three stories. Make sure to factor this into your trajectory calculations.
BY BATMOBILE: You can park anywhere you damn well please.
BY TAUNTAUN: As the performance will be occurring in late June, your tauntaun is unlikely to freeze before you reach the first marker. There will be an added valet fee if they smell bad on the outside.
BY FAST TRAVEL SYSTEM: For those traveling from Tamriel, please allow 2-4 minutes staring at a loading screen before arrival.
BY COMMERCIAL SPACEPLANE: Yes.

THRESHOLD does not contain any "mature content." There is no violence, nudity, or swearing. That being said, THRESHOLD is not a kid's show. It deals with relationships, emotions, regrets, hope. It might not be as meaningful to a young person. Or maybe it will mean the world to them.

As many as you'd like! If you're not interested in other reward offerings, make a pledge of $50 for each ticket you want. Thus a $100 pledge merits 2 VIP tickets, a $300 pledge merits 6 VIP tickets, etc. Contact us to confirm your booking information.
