I agree this wasn't up long enough! I would have left this up for a year. The iControlpad is so bulky and doesn't fit well in the pocket.
Plus, I just bought a Galaxy Tab and the Game Gripper would be a million times better for it than the iControlpad.
Creator avi thomas on March 9, 2011
compared to the Icontrolpad I liked the way this was all one piece and looked much quicker to put on and take off. I would probably loose the sides for the i controlpad and it wouldn't fit in my pocket with them on.
To bad this kickstart failed. It would have been nice.
Creator M47R1X on March 2, 2011
Ack! Damnit! How depressing... I was really looking forward to this.... I just knew though in those last few minutes it wasn't going to happen... I was hoping for one of this and one of the iCP. Both have their strengths.
Creator ZeroPoke on March 2, 2011
@Broman @Hyrum What is need is the gripper mechanism attachment/replace for the current side supports of the icontrolpad
Creator Cecilia Miller on March 2, 2011
@Broman I agree with you on all your points.
@Antony, after I posted that, I realized that I was wrong about the L and R. Silly me! :-)
Creator Broman of Jawcase on March 2, 2011
The thing about the Icontrolpad is that it requires different sides to be made for each phone, this is completely universal. Next new phone you guys have you simply adjust the clamp to it and done, the icontrolpad needs them to manufacture new parts that takes time and costs you extra money. This is definitely a better system to theirs. This is basically future proof and will save you guys tons of money in the long run.
Creator Antony Lavelle on March 1, 2011
The iControlpad has L and R buttons, in recessed at the back, and they work wonderfully, in fact I'm holding one right now, controlling one of my Flash games with it.
Creator Broman of Jawcase on March 1, 2011
Hyrum, you only have 2 hours to go! I think you've taken the turkey out to early, you need to give people some more time!!! Can you send this thing out for reviews? I think 30-60 days should cover it. You'll have time for reviews and for more people looking for this device to back the project. What do you think guys?
Creator Cecilia Miller on March 1, 2011
But the iControl pad has a bizarre clamp system, and no L or R buttons as far as I can tell. I would much rather have a bluetooth game gripper! Ill probably check out the wii controller option, now that this is hours away from not being backed at our goal number. Maybe I can rig up a clamping type system for it. Will it work on an HTC Incredible?
Looking forward to the suction buttons beta.
Creator Hyrum Fairbanks PE on March 1, 2011
The icontrolpad does look nice! I have been thinking about buying some and selling them at game-gripper.com. Maybe even making some sides to fit other phones.
Creator Orad on March 1, 2011
If this doesn't go through, at least we still have iControlPad. I hope that isn't a bad thing to say here. It's nice that we still have an option for game controls on our phones.
Creator ZeroPoke on February 28, 2011
@Billy and noo grippy part ;P
Creator Billy Gollihue on February 28, 2011
@Cecilia
It's a bit bulky, but the Retro Wireless controller for the Wii by Datel fits the bill nicely for me at the moment. I pledged for one of these because they appear to be much better, but this one gets the job done at the expense of reduced portability:

Creator Cecilia Miller on February 28, 2011
I too would pay a higher price to get one. I cant go much longer without a gamepad for my smartphone
Creator jeffers on February 28, 2011
you could print your circuits like: http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/hackaday/LgoM/~3/E5TeLmDacCM/ might save money short term (though at expense of work load)
Creator Billy Gollihue on February 28, 2011
Not sure. I hope so.
Creator Darren on February 28, 2011
36 hours... I dont think we are going to make it. Does kickstarter let you try again?
Creator Billy Gollihue on February 28, 2011
Awesome! That was like a grand in less than a day!
Creator Billy Gollihue on February 27, 2011
Seconded. I'd pay as high as 60 shipped.
Creator ZeroPoke on February 26, 2011
Hyrum, if this doesnt go thru is there gonna be away for people who are willing to pay extra to still get one?
Creator Elias Person on February 26, 2011
Dang, I want one sooo bad. I am praying there is a last minute rush of backers!
Creator Nathan Charlton on February 25, 2011
Hyrum...if you can't get the backers needed, how about this as an alternative.
People want a small controller that is portable. Slim this thing down even more, get rid of the gripper mechanism, and just make it a small bluetooth controller I can carry in my pocket with my phone. I've considered doing this with a wii remote, but it's too big, and it really only has the buttons necessary for nes games.
So take that custom keyboard you've got in the game-gripper, shrink the thing down, and give us a good bluetooth controller, because that doesn't even exist right now. Code Junkies has a wii classic controller that's bluetooth...but at $50 it's expensive, and looks bulky.
Something like this....but maybe snes controller size, and with a dpad instead. Get it down closer to $30, and I think you've got a hit on your hands.

Creator Billy Gollihue on February 24, 2011
Here's to hoping there's a lot of last-minute interest...I've been plugging the hell out of this thing to everyone I know, but damn.
Creator Tannen on February 24, 2011
Great idea!! I love it! I just wish I had more money right now that I could pledge you more. :/
Creator Broman of Jawcase on February 23, 2011
Great job Hyrum, All of us at Jawcase are rooting for ya.
Creator M47R1X on February 23, 2011
@Nicholas, If it works on a DroidX, then I see no reason why it wouldn't work on a Droid 2.
Creator Nicholas Haskins on February 23, 2011
Would this work on my Droid 2? I know it has a keyboard, however I like the idea behind it of not having to use my keyboard. I backed it up but might withdraw until an answer is provided. I don't want to spend $47 on something I can't use.
Creator Joseph Lee on February 23, 2011
I have a question, are you able to choose which key is recognized when you press a button on the gamepad or is that hard wired for a specific character. I ask because you would need two gamepads returning two different sets of keys to play on the same phone.
Creator Joel Johnson on February 23, 2011
I want one of these so it's disappointing to see it at only 1/3 funding. I hope it makes it!
In updates you say the price will be $45 plus shipping. At that price, I think it will only be a niche purchase. If you could get the price to $30, I think you would have a lot more sales than at $45. Of course, I don't know how many you would need to sell to make $30 profitable, I'm just saying that $30 sounds to me like the "magic price" where sales will really pick up.
Creator M47R1X on February 22, 2011
I am waiting on this Maximus, and I will pledge in the last few days. This is because I need money. I need money to pledge. I get paid Friday and will hopefully have enough then, but life's tough right now.
I imagine there are quite a few like me. Enough to raise $20,000? Maybe so, maybe no. We'll see. I was supposed to have some clients in my client-based side-job, but shit keeps on happening and I haven't had any since I was eligible for them LAST YEAR. It will make SO MUCH MORE money (4x what I make now IN ADDITION to my current job) and I would gladly post $500 to this, but right now I can't. It's sad, but that's how it is... I hope people will jump on this, it really seems like a great idea.
Creator Maximus on February 22, 2011
Hopefully we can meet the goal in 7 days but were only at 1/3 of the Goal and to cover that much is going to be a difficult task
Iv promoted this on various sites to get people to participate hopefully we can get the necessary capital
Creator jeffers on February 22, 2011
so, if we want international shipping, do we donate $61 instead?
Creator Danny on February 22, 2011
I posted this in the Android Apps and Games section at XDA.
Creator Skizomeuh on February 22, 2011
Oh and I forgot to say this is the adapter I was waiting for, great design idea way better than all I've seen before.
I hope it will become true soon, and compatible with my HTC Desire (non-HD)
Creator Skizomeuh on February 22, 2011
You should try to involve big game makers in fundings (Gameloft, Rovio, Yoyo games, etc...). It's their interest too to widen the gaming genres available on phones, and a way to sell some xperia play games on a wider base.
Only 1/3 of goal... I'm very worried...
Creator Patrick Love on February 22, 2011
*NOW be compatible, rather.
Also, has anyone posted this in the various accessory sections of the XDA forums?
Creator Patrick Love on February 22, 2011
For Epic owners, the 2.2 updat rolling out this week is supposed to include "improved bluetooth support" (and bluetooth voice dialing is listed separately). Any word on whether or not this could mean the bGG will not be compatible with the Epic?
Creator Orad on February 22, 2011
Hi, if this is using keyboard mode, what happens if I need to press a lot of buttons all at once? Keyboards can only do six buttons at a time which already uses two if I move diagonally. Thanks!
Creator ZeroPoke on February 22, 2011
Were running out of time!! I really hope this goes thru This is exactly what I want for my phone.
Creator edgar on February 22, 2011
sorry guys but i cant pledge 47 =( if only it was cheaper so i could afford it hopefully its cheaper when he is selling the units not the preordered ones
Creator Danny on February 21, 2011
8 days to go and almost 20K!! Come on, we need to get the word out!
Creator Darren on February 21, 2011
Pledges are slowing down. Boo!
Creator Michele Di Maio on February 21, 2011
BLUETOOTH GAME GRIPPER
Y U NO SUPPORT IPHONE 3GS
Creator Luis on February 20, 2011
Asking HTC EVO users to flash a new ROM into our phones is not a fix. MyMobileGear.com has a bluetooth driver that works with two bluetooth gamepads on the HTC Evo with Sense. Maybe you guys can have them add support for your gamepad. BTW, even though I am an EVO owner I still pledge to preorder the gamepad. With all the new phones coming out soon, there's a good chance that my next phone will not be an HTC phone.
http://mymobilegear.com/GameProAn.php
Creator edgar on February 20, 2011
is it just 47 for pre order only. or when its released its going to be like 25 or something?????
imo thats not really affordable (this coming from a 17 year old who pays bills and doesnt have a very good job 47 is alot on a gamepad) the bluetooth gamepad showed on the video i was able to find for 10-15$ but its not up to me this is a really neat gamepad ^.^
Creator Joseph Lee on February 20, 2011
Hmm really hope we reach the mark, off to drum up more support!
Creator foobar on February 19, 2011
Thanks for the explanation of the foam - I'd been wondering why the phone did not appear to lie flat.
Creator M47R1X on February 19, 2011
So Hyrum, is the firmware flash-upgradeable via the USB port? I feel if it it then it would be a good idea to go ahead and get one even if you have Sense, with the understanding that the firmware could be updated in the future to support it. I have been frequenting the iControlPad forums for several months now and they never made mention of Sense not working, so I don't think it's impossible. There's still a few months until this would be in the final stages of production, so I imagine Sense would be a go by then.
Creator Ethan B on February 19, 2011
I am Assuming this works with the I pod touch 4g since it works with iphone? If not ill have to cancel my pledge.
Creator jeffers on February 19, 2011
when you say it doesnt support the htc hero, is that gsm? and would the fact im running cm6.1 not sense fix that issue?
