Update #1: Graphics Demonstration of Character Models

The art style in Extreme Hugtime Simulation Challenge is very important to the aesthetic of the game. A cute and pleasing visual style will make the game accessible, by appealing to non-gamers; the unlockable levels, rewarding achievement and scoring system, and difficult-to-master gameplay will more than adequately appeal to gamers.

Not only will the beauty of the game make it special, but so will the comedic irony: it isn't actually a Japanese game based on a Japanese game show, but EHSC certainly thinks that it is!

So, take a look at our graphics demo, featuring the game show's announcer.

See how anime he is?

See how stiff he is? Poor, boneless guy. If only there were some way to fix his ailment....

Brandon Higley

Brandon Higley was born in Northern California in 1986, where he spent his earliest years playing video games on a Gameboy given to him by his cousin. Titles like Super Mario Land and Final Fantasy Legend III were the first of many titles that would dominate his afternoons and weekends, simultaneously creating both a gamer and a composer. An early interest in video game music inspired him to learn a musical instrument, and at about the time that Final Fantasy IV (then II) and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past were his games of choice, he joined the school marching band.

This began what would be a life-long study of music, eventually leading him to study the basics of Western harmony and analysis under Dr. Robert Mathews at Yuba Community College before transferring to the University of California, Santa Cruz, where he specialized his courses for music for film and video games. There, he composed the soundtrack for the senior exit project for the flagship graduating class in Computer Game Design from a California four-year university, The Hacker and the Heroine.

Since then, he has worked on various indie titles, composing the music for a promotional video for Encore, the game music for the now-defunct Type 3, and Creakos’ “Project Genesis”. He is currently working with his brother on the game Extreme Hugtime Simulation Challenge for their game studio boredom’s products.
