Awesome readers, the dedicated who stand and proclaim “Talk to me about books without being boring!” Today, we come with exciting news. The response to Start Here, Vol. 1, which you backed in last summer’s Kickstarter, has been really rad, and the list of authors you are demanding goes on and on, so we’re back to do it again!

Today, we’re launching a Kickstarter campaign to create the second book in our Start Here series, designed to help you read your way into authors you’ve always wanted to try but haven’t, because you didn’t know where to start. Start Here, Vol. 2 will be a collection of short, accessible, and passionate introductions to reading big-time authors, including Virginia Woolf, William Faulkner, Toni Morrison, James Salter, Ursula K. LeGuin, China Mieville, and many more.

Hear ye, hear ye! The final manuscript of START HERE is being sent for epub conversion and printing. We realize we’re running behind schedule. The delay is partly due to this being our first time publishing a book and partly due to hurricane Sandy (we’re based in Brooklyn). However, the book will be worth the wait, and we're beyond excited to put it in your hands.

For those with extra super special rewards, those will hit the mail the same week.

Greetings, Kickstarters! In the weeks since our last update, we’ve turned the writing gears up to eleven and have been busily preparing to publish START HERE. The chapters are in. The editors have busted out their trusty red pens. We’re readying the confetti cannon and planning the launch party. (And you know there ain’t no party like a Book Riot party.)

We’re anticipating ebook copies of START HERE to be available the week of November 5, with paper copies hitting your mailboxes the week of November 12. (If you are in an exotic locale outside the USA, expect a few days longer.) Rewards will be shipped then too, for those of you who backed at a level that earned you an extra-awesome goodie.
