Bodega is committed to working with artists to develop and present new projects. We are asking for your support to help us continue!
Since we started Bodega in July of 2010, we have hosted 14 exhibitions, 31 performances, 4 lectures, 1 residency, and published 10 titles through Bodega Press. Bodega houses an artist book viewing library that is free and open to the public, boasting over 150 volumes. This spring Bodega was included in First Among Equals, an exhibition at the Philadelphia Institute of Contemporary Art that considered the various modes contemporary artists have developed to work with their peers. For the exhibition, Bodega organized a group of performances and a series of texts that offered various perspectives on the social, political, and economic relationships that inform contemporary artistic practice.
In the past 2 years Bodega has worked directly with over 220 artists!
But we need your help to continue and to improve upon the ways in which we support artists and their work. Bodega is an artist-run and artist-funded space and our projects are not commercially-driven. In order to make all of our events accessible, our doors are open to the public, free-of-charge. Our aim has always been to provide reasonable financial support for the projects that we host and in this upcoming year we hope to make this a reality.Your contribution will not only help the directors of Bodega continue to host exciting exhibitions and events, but it will go also go towards transportation costs, project development, and artists stipends.
Thank you for your support, past and present!
Love, Bodega (Elyse Derosia, Ariela Kuh, Lydia Okrent, James Pettengill, and Eric Veit)
